I need to share Trustee Wendy Hough's comments from the #OCDSB meeting tonight where the board passed a motion to create a mandatory vaccination protocol for staff.

Please read her statement below as it reflects what MANY of us are feeling in Ontario right now.

Trustee Hough: "I think that it is an absolute, egregious abdication of responsibility on the provincial government for not making these choices on behalf of every student in the province." 2/8
"That this has been handed to a group of linguists and IT specialists and retirees to make the choices about the public safety of the children in this province, about the employees for which the provincial government negotiates their contracts." 3/8

Livetweet thread for #OCDSB meeting! Mute the hashtag if this will bother you or mute me for tonight, I GUESS. I'll be back to my usual non-livetweet shenanigans tomorrow.

Just getting a snack and a drink, then will be ready to go.

In the meantime, know that my child's day care provider gave him a gift for his last day today and I am OVERWHELMED. I don't think you fully appreciate the size of this thing.
Accompanying tonight's meeting is this excellent sour beer.

Also all my dice for tabletop, because I am absolutely too lazy to put them all away and then reorganize them every time I play.

Who's ready for a new round of #OCDSB board meeting tweets? I am!

Reminder: mute this thread and/or the #OCDSB hashtag if you don't want to see these.

Last time I did this, Twitter got weird and put these tweets all over the place, so... sorry. It got messy.

Board! Meeting!
Tonight's #OCDSB meeting is a Committee of the Whole (or COW) meeting, so there are more people in attendance than last time.

There are a few delegations and, notably, Dr. Etches will be there to speak and take questions.
If we get to it, the Universal Screening Tool (to identify giftedness) is up for discussion tonight. This was deferred from a meeting a few weeks ago.
