I don't think I've said this publicly before but I will say it now for future reference...

I first voted in the 2011 General elections. As a personal rule, I have never been one to fawn over politicians or look at them as role models.
FWIW, I look at them as public servants whose relationship with the electorate should be transactional. You give us the kind of governance we want, we keep you there in the corridors of power.

This is my idea of politics. Of course I also knew we were far from the ideal here.
Our has always been one of thuggery, violence, rigging and effectively stealing the mandate of the people.

Looking back, I voted for GEJ in 2011 because I felt he was somehow different from the type of politicians we were already used to.

But whyā€™s it that most IPOBians on social media are usually faceless people? šŸ¤”šŸ‘€
Freedom fighting is one thing, terrorism and rabble rousing are another.
Iā€™ve never been a fan of MNKā€™s approach to ā€œfreedom for Biafransā€, but even though One Nigeria, as it were, doesnā€™t seem to be working for all, there are subtler ways of getting what you want. (NB to Nigerians: An Obi presidency is NOT one of such.)

When I woke up today: I planned to cover Lagos #1millionMarch, in fact I had commenced at Festac, hoping to detour to Ikeja. Little did I know that I would be following @PeterObi to Trade Fair & Ajegunleā˜ŗļø...a thread.
@JosephOnuorah @IkukuomaC @AfamDeluxo @MissPearls @Jack_ng01
People left their shops and came out in droves, more like when a town-crier has announced that everyone should come to the market square. They all rushed out to see the Big masquerade @PeterObi storm their market. In fact, he went to all three major areas of Trade Fair.
People who know Trade Fair, will tell you that this a market that largely operates Monday-Friday. It is usually scanty on Saturday, but for @PeterObi to command such turnout on a day 50% of the traders stay at home, it's testament to the huge followership he has garnered.

I really commend @StearsInsights for creating a data-driven model to predict the results of Nigeria's 2023 presidential election. Having said that, I think most people are misinterpreting the polling data and distorting expectations. So here's a šŸ§µwith some critiques 1/X
A good election model answers two questions: (1) who do people support and (2) who's likely to turn out on the day and actually vote? They've done a reasonably good job on the first but a poorer job on the second 2/X
Let's start with 1). @StearsInsights indicates that 40%(!!) of the people polled are unwilling to share their preferred candidate. They try to model these "silent" voters by matching them to "vocal" voters with similar demographics and then assuming they will vote similarly. 3/X

#NigeriaDecides2023: Given what is at stake, it will be reckless to rely on mere assurances - Chima Christian

There are two critical success factors in any election; voter mobilisation and election results management. This is even more so for developing countries where... Image
...institutions are not yet robust enough to withstand the twin evil of internal compromises and external pressures.
The @NgLabour; her presidential and vice presidential candidates; their presidential campaign council; and the numerous donors, volunteers, and support groups powering the #OBIdient movement should be given due credit for their incredible voter mobilization efforts.

The attack on the flagboi is part of the orchestrated plans to intimidate the #Obidient movement, using state and non-state actors. The plans, already in plain sight, are as follows:
1. Deploy security and intelligence services at some of the known faces of the movement;
Plan number 1 was tested on Saturday morning with the arrest of BigJoeofLagos.

2. Non-state actors will be deployed to attack known faces of the movement.

3. A coordinated campaign of calumny against Peter Obi -
(i) as a drug peddler
(ii) as an IPOB promoter and supporter
4. The use of a well known blog ran by an unidentified blogger to run dirty campaigns on Obi and Obidients.

5. Harassments of some of the well-known Obidients, using the so-called "No-Fly" list.

The battle is going to get dirty in November and December, so let's get ready.

'just read the tweet-thread of Onwuchekwa Martins. He addresses the ontology of the #Obidient movement and contextualises it. The movement is not driven by rent or the 'ism' of ideology - I've always expressed this.
For me, the movement, driven by the youths and the "common people" who reject our establishment politics that has become too elitist and insular, is ideological to the extent that is national and socially populist.
You just have to look elsewhere in our history to identify how it connects to the Zikist movement of the 1940s. And, perhaps, elsewhere in the farmers movement which birthed the Texas Peoples Party after the American civil war.

Bandits impose levies on farmers in many parts of the North. Terrorism, thinly disguised as banditry, as become a form of government in the north. Bar Kwara and Kogi - even in Kogi, ISWAP is becoming visible- there's no safe haven in the North.
Will 2023 poll hold?
The question answers itself and presupposes two "IFS".
1. If election doesn't hold, what will happen? If the election holds, what will happen?
a. It will precipitate a constitutional crisis.
b. Results will be written in virtually 17 states of the north
2. If the conditions that appear now to threaten 2023 persist, what will happen?

If you are a student of history and an expert in military vanguardism, you'd know that it is these conditions that precipitate military putsch.

Folks, thought of tweeting something I observed in the #Obidient movement today; but, today, one of those rare days, my body broke under the STRESS of itself.
The body often breaks under the stress of itself when the internal body frames - shock absorbers - become in themselves, STRESSED. A body that breaks under the STRESS of itself is said to be fragile.
There are bodies - akpuruka bodies - that keep going, in spite of the STRESS of itself. These bodies are often said to be resilient.
But, there are bodies that get stronger and stronger and better under stress. Such bodies are said to be ANTIFRAGILE

Things they won't tell you to motivate the #Obidient movement.

Ruto's party - United Democratic Alliance was only formed in 2021 with 0/47 seating Governors, 15/349 Reps and 16/67 senate members mostly decampees.
Ruto belongs to an ethnic minority in Kenya. His dubbing of this new movement "Hustler Nation" in his campaign to highlight the influence young voters will have on the country's future.

He was outspent by Odinga & Kenyatta who became bedfellows after years of being
fierce opponents.
He was dubbed a social media president given the fierce and energetic stance of his young support base.

Leaving the mainstream Jubilee party in 2021 to form this new "structureless" party was considered political suicide by many political analyst.

I know I will get flak for saying this, but I am tired of seeing top Yoruba personalities coming here to claim neatral but directly throwing mud at everything good happening for @PeterObi. It must be said that they are doing this only because of ethnic sentiments & its sad.
@PeterObi In Nigeria, it is allowed for a Yoruba man to say emilokan and his tribesmen crowd around him without repriman; a Hausa man to say we have the numbers and we must have it & his people cheer him; but an Igbo man gathering just 12 disciples will be called IPOB. Why?
@PeterObi Why did it take armed bandits so long to be called terrorists? Why do herdsmen roam so freely? Why is Amotekun allowed and not ESN? Why is Igboho not in jail like Kanu? Why are the red capped Kwankwasiyya good & Obidients bad? Why are Obi's supporters IPOB and Tinubu's not OPC?

Some of my Igbo guys here from #OBIDIENT camp went through rigorous grilling from people trying to learn about @PeterObi whether with true intentions or just to find loopholes. For one day, they never go out of character to dismiss anyone or recoil back to shout ā€œitā€™s Igbo turnā€
They educated everyone that wanted to listen. @urchilla01 will make lengthy thread of facts and Iā€™d be wondering if he ever gets the time to do his med job. Is it @Chude__ or @AfamDeluxo or @UchePOkoye? Name it. Lots of them that I canā€™t even mention all
They took out so much time attending to the curiosity of the people about PO.

Not for once did they indicate any inference that such curiosities were underhanded attacks to the Igbos because PO is an Igbo man.

They never asked their Igbo followers to remember what

You can as well do all your digs and gigs for these old men wey don destroy Nigeria. You are young, so you didn't experience Nigeria when it worked and gave promises of a future these old men later killed.
Nigeria gave me world class education at no cost.
I didn't pay tuition fees in the may primary schools I attended. Ogbe Primary School, Benin; Eke Model Primary Scool, Kwale; Wesley Primary School, Sapele and Dogho Primary School, Warri. All public schools.
Pity parents who pay through hell today
Nor did I pay tuition fees in the secondary school and high school I attended in Ikot Ekpene and Ondo town respectively. In both schools, I was taught by PhD-holders. I remember Dr Sowande of my secondary years who would always ask us to explain "the microcosm of macrocosm"!

When Oloye Akin Alabi said LP won't get upto 15 votes in his ward we cursed him out and trolled him, he further reduced it to 10, we flooded his DM, but what is happening today proves him right. I feel sad n that's why i am ranting.

You don't count A and count Z. #OsunDecides
You cannot be in an election where their is a guber candidate for LP and say you are only willing to work for Pete r Obi. If Osun election was not important Peter Obi wouldn't have visited to campaign for Lasun.
Where is the crowd that came out to welcome Peter Obi and campaign, why are they not out to vote?

Why haven't we been able to get 150k signatures against Reno in a platform we have at least doninated as young people and as #OBIDIENTS ?

Questions questions, questions?
