Here’s video I took of one about a year and a half ago. (Sorry, the “gross” is in reference to my mom’s dog that was snotting on me).
And update! I've been informed this is a heron! Not a crane. But either way, unless it was some sort of nuisance or invasive species, why would anyone kill either one? They both seem awfully nice and calming to look at. 😥 We humans are literally the worst.
