(1) Some hedging on projections on #Covid cases here in #Oklahoma according to IHME.
(2) As far as projections for hospital beds needed for Covid patients, we seemed to have reached our plateau. There is a slower decline in the Covid ICU beds needed. Let’s hope this holds true and things continue to improve. These last 18 months have been a roller coaster.

1/25 Some have said McGirt is our most pressing challenge. The ruling offers challenges, no one can deny that, but . . . our **most** pressing challenge? If that’s the case, the Tribes ought to be proud of how they are rising to it. #tribalsovereignty #factsmatter #Oklahoma
2/25 At Chickasaw, we have partnered with some 70 other jurisdictions, and about 575 Tribal and non-Tribal officers are now empowered to enforce state, federal, and tribal law without regard to whether the offender or victim is Native.
3/25 As of Aug. 27 (i.e., 24 weeks out from the judicial reaffirmation of our reservation), our Lighthorse had already fielded nearly 20,811 dispatch calls and made 1,141 arrests.

(1) The projections for Oklahoma are heading in the wrong direction. According to IHME, our peak hospital bed need will be on September 7th, and we will need 857 ICU beds for Covid patients.
(2) According to the HHS data from the week of July 22nd, Oklahoma had 1,018 staffed ICU beds total. 856 were occupied at that time. Of those 856, 298 were Covid.
(3) If these current projections hold true, Oklahoma will be short 427 ICU beds. We simply have to increase capacity and bend this curve down by getting vaccinated and wearing masks while in a public indoor setting. We also need to make testing more readily available.

(2) The Hospital bed situation can change hourly. Oklahomans that need an ICU bed are having to wait in the ER or be transferred to another hospital when one opens up.
(3) Oklahomans that need care at the hospital are still receiving it. The Oklahoma hospitals, health care workers, and first responders are dedicated and working hard to provide the care Oklahomans need and deserve.

A man identifying as "Robert" called me from a blocked number to say I should write that #OKGOP Chairman John Bennett must resign over this.

I decided to check my email inbox to see if any Republican politician in Oklahoma had issued a statement about this situation, and I did not see any.

Then, I decided to check out the trusty ol' @nondocmedia Twitter list of #Oklahoma lawmakers:… (2/?)
On the Twitter list, I still haven't seen any GOP #okleg members condemning the comparison of COVID-19 vaccine requirements to an atrocity perpetrated against #Jewish people.

One senator is sad about the Cubs trading away players. A rep. earlier retweeted an OU video. (3/?)

So far everything Ive commented on in the realm of conference expansion has been make believe. Just day dreams. I did a little reading tho & wanted to go thru what is reality & most importantly, why? Ill be going thru all remaining P5 confs to shed light on their situation. #CFB
First, lets take a look at the #ACC. You can ignore anything you read regarding #NotreDame or any of the the #ACC schools leaving. Just keep right on scrolling, bc it isn’t happening. Why not? The #ACC has a grant of rights agreement which extends until 2036. (continued)
No school is going to be putting their TV revenue on the line for the next 15 yrs. Just wont happen. By the end of this grant of rights agreement tho, the #ACC will be making nearly half of what the #BigTen & #SEC will be in TV revenue (only $34 Million per team in ’19). (cont)

Now that #Oklahoma and #Texas have officially withdrawn from the #Big12-2-2-2, several academic institutions in the league have started the process of backchanneling (while of course remaining committed to the Big12-2-2-2) for a new home.
Not wanting my own beloved college cast aside to a G5 league that is more aligned with our aspirations and history, I’ve taken it upon myself to produce a similar piece, so that another elite league may choose to add us and carry us on their financial shoulders.
I of course, am speaking of University of #West #Virginia. There are several things that set #WVU apart from your average D1 entity. These unique qualities define us, and should give us immediate consideration for our admission into either the #ACC, #BIG16, #PACnumber, or #SEC.

Board member Bridger Cox and Secretary Brent Kisling are not in attendance today. Chairman Roger Wagner introduces a woman named Katherine (Catherine?) to go over financials. Says "over the last 11 months, ODFA has held an average cash balance of $9.1 million."
"The current balance sheet is very in line with our budgeted balance sheet," she says, adding that composition of general fund revenue has changed. Gone from $104,000 to $213,000 in closing cost revenue year to year.

Interest rate has declined on cash balance.

Lotta money.
