To global athletes competing in #Tokyo2020

I have a fundamental question to you from Japan:

What do you think the local families who lost their loved ones by #COVID19 would see in you with the #Olympic medals? Do you think they will be overjoyed and ‘happy’ for you?
Not really.

In Japan, we’ve run out of beds for #Covid19 patients & more than 10,000 people are waiting at home to die without treatment. Ordinary Japanese citizen does not have access to PCR tests because the goverment wants to eliminate the risk of finding more cases.
To this very day, only 25% of our entire medical workforce has been vaccinated and only with the FIRST dose. The high-risk elderlies are still on the waiting list and ordinary citizens would not have access to vaccines until early June at the earliest.

International investigation of the origin of #COIVD19 should be "robust and clear," says @PressSec. "We want to have science experts, policy experts on the ground" in #China.
"It was invoked the day it was signed," says @PressSec when asked again about the #DPA.
Does @POTUS believe the #Tokyo2020 #Olympic games can go on, @PressSec is asked and she replies she is unsure if this was discussed today during the call today with @sugawitter.

#PrimeMinister, please watch this @BBCNewsnight clip.
Even as someone who’s worked as a dr throughout the #pandemic & seen #COVID19 up close, I found it deeply shocking & disturbing. 1/
@BorisJohnson @10DowningStreet
This isn’t a real #Lockdown #PrimeMinister !The roads are busy, schools have far more “key worker” kids than in Mar & #earlyyears settings are open “as normal”.
In my local #Medicentre & @PostOffice ,9/12 in, #masks ARE OPTIONAL! A place countless people go, MASKS R OPTIONAL! 2/
These are today’s numbers #PrimeMinister, EVERY case, admission or death is a person with family & friends.
Our #NHS 💙is on its knees, staff are sick & exhausted, taking to social media for help. We are doing our very best but things are really bad.
REALLY BAD! @BorisJohnson Image

1. This thread is about an interesting clue @CzebotarJessie inspired me to look into- #architecture. Apparently, certain masonic architects, such as #FrankLloydWright, designed structures, which can indicate either a safe house, a house where sex & rituals can take place etc.
Many houses have a network of tunnels underneath them. From the outside, it is hard to tell, but for instance, looking at the #WHWinslowResidence, the stairs from the pantry, could indicate an entrance to the tunnels.
2. The #IsidoreHHeller house however is possibly telling an interesting story. Originally owned by an Austrian butcher, Isidore H. Heller, who worked at Wold Sayer & Heller Packers & Butcher's Supplies. #FrankLoydWright designed this house in 1897.

Four years ago, on this day i became the first Malaysian cyclist to win Bronze medal at the Rio Olympic Games. It’s the heaviest medal in my collection and it’s weigh approximately 500g! [This is thread] Image
I’m so proud of myself as i’ve dedicated a huge part of my lives, spending countless hours and a lot of things in the process. Only me and my team know the trials and tribulations that i need to face in making this into the reality which make this piece of metal become priceless.
Moved out of my comfort zone at the age of 19, from kampung boy in Dungun-Malaysia to Melbourne-Australia, leaving families and friends behind and dedicated my whole life into this sport.

The years 2015-2020 have revealed an insidious disregard for the #female category by #OlympicGames @olympics executives and their corporate sponsors.
Male (XY) 🧬athletes now allowed into XX events.
Time to take stock re #women’s #sports.
Where did we begin?
Where are we going?
Our story begins in the Egyptian Middle Kingdom (2000 B.C.)
Forms of women’s competition were somewhat different than we experience in 2020 A.D.
Contests revolved around two key aspects of #Egyptian life:
1. Food acquisition- #hunting & #fishing
2. Entertaining - #acrobatics
True #sports for women really began in Ancient Greece during the Classical period (400 B.C.). Unmarried girls had their own private competitions - also at Olympia every 4years.
These were separate from the men’s games.
The festivals were held in honour of Hera, wife of Zeus.

FYI, "RMS" stands for Royal Mail Steamer.

#Titanic's captain was seasoned sailor Edward J. Smith.
