I am putting pen to paper to say this winter is going from bad to worse. Please read on but @NSWHealth the whole system is under pressure and this is worse than 2021 because nearly every hospitla is impacted.
#COVID19 fewer people are testing! Of the 178,462 PCR tests reported 11.5% were positive. 467 people with COVID-19 were admitted to hospital and 43 were admitted to ICU this week, but this is down from the week before.
But while #OmicronBA2 is the dominant strain #OmicronBA5 is increasing and is now 22% of isolates. This is concerning as it has the potential for more immune escape, especially for those not infected in January and with only x2 vaccine doses, you are at risk!
