Chinese #smartphones continue to lead the market share despite crackdown by the Indian government

businessinsider.in/tech/mobile/neโ€ฆ

By @sourabhjain24
Four out of five #smartphones sold in the June quarter in India were made by Chinese companies, according to reports. This is despite the crackdown by the Indian government on Chinese smartphone giants #Xiaomi, Oppo and #Vivo, which control half of India's smartphone market.
In addition to the crackdown by the government, there have been calls for a boycott of Chinese products in India since the two countries clashed in the Galwan valley in 2020.

FM #NirmalaSitharaman recently spoke about the crackdown on Chinese companies in the Rajya Sabha.

OnePlus user awareness post!
To all OnePlus users out there, there is a serious firmware issue happening with OnePlus devices, which forces your device into Qualcomm Crash Dump Mode
Please backup all the precious data if you don't want to lose it.
Once you get into into that state, 70% of the time your phone wouldn't reboot back to normal. Very few were able to revive the device using MSM tool, but you would lose all data.
The only solution from OnePlus service centre is to replace the motherboard which costs around 20k in the case of OnePlus6(more than the market value of the device). Most of the issues happened after updating to the latest firmware.

@OnePlus_USA @oneplus @OnePlus_Support Thank you for confirming that you WILL NOT support a customer with a legitimate issue caused by FALSELY LISTING YOUR DEVICES AS CERTIFIED/COMPATIBLE WITH @Verizon. (Thread Cliffs below:)
Cliffs: I ported over to VZ from TMO w/ an OP 8T+ 5G that was not compatible w/ VZ's 5G. I've had/enjoyed 2 OP phones by now, and saw the OP9 Pro was announced as certified/compatible with VZ's network in late Q1 2021. Naturally, I buy one unlocked from OP
All is well at first besides a handful of intermittent stability quirks, no biggie. Eventually I suffer a local network outage and come to find THERE IS NO WIFI-CALLING. The outage lasts 5+ hours, and I can't make/receive calls/texts the entire time.

The #COVID scenario would want you to try new gadgets. In life, it is really important to explore and settle for optimal solutions rather than the "stated best" and so these are 5 reasons I opted for @LGMobileGlobal #G8xThinQ #dualscreen compared to @SamsungMobile #Fold2
1. Like any other foldable phone , ThinQ is also bulky but Dual screen comes as an accessory which is detachable when you want to not multitask but use a simple phone. Thus instead of using bleeding edge and expensive tech, LG has made something less impressive but more practical
2. Although both phones does different things better than the other, for multi-tasker as me, it is more practical to use two apps like Whatsapp + Google or Google Maps + Restaurant reviews on two seperate screens rather than Samsung requiring split-screen software implementation Image

Yesterday I wanted to buy a #OnePlus 8Pro but I stopped because it's made in #China. So I changed my opinion and searched for #iPhone, sadly 80% of iPhones are made in Chinaโ˜น๏ธ Finally I decided to open #Flipkart to search for other mobiles but flipkart is funded by Chinese ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿ‘‡
I was extremely disappointed and thought of eating some delicious food ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ” for that I opened #Zomato and #Swiggy irony is that both are funded by Chinese firms. Finally I decided to order some snacks from #Bigbasket, this is also funded by china. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿ‘‡
I was vexed and wanted to go to restaurant and eat ๐Ÿ . To go there, I tried booking #Ola and cancelled because China funded Ola too. I wanted to compromise for food but Ola driver was accepting ride only if I pay through #Paytm but again China has made investment in Paytm. ๐Ÿ‘‡
