It’s a jungle out there. And there’s so much confusion in the minds of people that it’s a nightmare at times figuring what’s legal, what’s not; what’s ‘approved’, what’s not.

At one point, I myself was left in total confusion about the space. It’s a mess.

There are platforms approved by the courts in the country. There are platforms that aren’t.

That bit is absolutely clear.

Confusion is beginning to emerge largely because of one reason: Platforms that don’t have the necessary approvals are piggy-backing platforms that have the approvals. In that lies the whole mess.

What constitutes as game of skill and what doesn’t?

#onlinegaming is fun, fast-paced, and fairly cheap. However, the temptation of thousands of gaming machines available right at your screen and now in your mobile device can quickly pull you in and have you playing unreasonable amounts, spending large sums.… While most online casinos lure you in with a promise of flexible deposits and betting limits, there is no shortage of high rollers who hit the online casino tables. Therein is the trouble. Since online gambling is a bit compulsive and too accessible,… players can quickly go from having fun to showing early signs of addiction. That is an addiction that you can feed at almost any time. After all, taking the plane to Las Vegas or driving to the local casino still takes physical effort that discourages

We've investigated certain features of these auto-renewing subscriptions.

#BREAKING: #MadrasHighCourt strikes down in its entirety the amendment to the Tamil Nadu Gaming Act which banned online games including online rummy and online poker with stakes. #onlinegaming
Court says that by imposing a wide-ranging, complete ban, the amendment has failed the least intrusive test and fallen afoul of Article 19 (1) (g) of the Constitution. Court says the challenged amendment was capricious, irrational, excessive and disproportionate

Court adds that the doctrine of severability is also not applicable since the amended definition of gaming runs throughout the Act. Court concludes the amending Act is disproportionate to the object and ultra vires the Constitution.
