Inspired by the Bank street walk @MattPinder1 did last week I decided to walk Bronson from Sparks to Hunt club (or as far as I get), going to tweet along to way about what I see and improvements that are coming in the future for pedestrians and cyclists. @ShawnMenard1 #ottbike
My friend and I took some e scooters to get to our starting point, luckily there was a good bump out zone to park them off the sidewalk.
Within the first Block of the walk we encounter our first pedestrian detour.

Possibly achieved the greatest accomplishment of my #ottbike life today I am so darn excited guys I don't even know where to start...!
I didn't do anything except for ask (&keep asking) for data from @ottawacity Traffic Services. Phil Landry at the city agreed to dedicate student(?) hours into counting the number, approx age, & gender of cyclists based on the Level of Traffic Stress at different locations
So now there is #data for 19 different locations in the city where we not only have demographic information (subjective, assessed by observers), but also the Level of Traffic Stress. I had some questions driving my desire for this data.

With upcoming announcement on Ottawa’s #RoadSafetyActionPlan at Gladstone and Bay by @JimWatsonOttawa and @AltaVistaWard18 thought I’d do a thread on this dangerous intersection for #OttPed and #OttBike. I walk, cycle and drive it many times a day. @cmckenney 1/
Gladstone is a major connector and important E/W route for #Autowa and @OC_Transpo and also a City “suggested route” for cycling. 2/
Bay, a one-way N side street, is major active transport route to/from DT. It’s the *only* N bound bike route between O’Connor & Trullium MUP. Also a lovely and busy #Ped route from W part of Centretown and Glebe (via Percy under 417). Highlight is access to Dundonald Park 3/
