1) This is the cover of Good Will Hunting. Many people argue Robin William’s portrayal of a therapist in cinematic history [despite strangling and threatening the client in that famous scene]. Still, look at where Robin’s character did his best work: #Outdoors 
2) This thread is about therapy outdoors as I was recently labelled as an “abuser”. I understand where this comes from my #research about survivors’ experiences in #WildernessTherapy. Good Will Hunting is not about Wilderness Therapy. They aren’t the same thing.
3) In 2020, I co-edited a book with Prof Nevin Harper titled Outdoor Therapies. This book examined #AdventureTherapy, #Nature-Based Therapy, Horticulture, #ForestTherapy, #Surf Therapy, #AnimalAssisted, &, yes, #WildernessTherapy.
THREAD: So if you love #fishing and your water, something to consider. I have bald eagles, trumpeter swans, pelicans, herons here on the Lower #Wisconsin #River. Lead kills #birds. I lose probably more than my share of jigs and hanging with the @riveralliancewi got me thinking.
I am more pragmatist than activist, but #environmentalism hits home as you watch eagles soar as you fish pristine, delicate waterways. The 92 miles LWR is mostly in conservancy, and is recognized as a @RamsarConv Wetlands of International Importance. rsis.ramsar.org/ris/2417
So I cultivated a local guy who makes lures out of his garage. Very skilled fisherman too and I have learned a lot from him out on the water. Had him cast me this initial run of jigs out of tin bismuth alloy.

Our main point: People should spend time outdoors to enjoy nature and be active. Being outdoors is essentially the best ventilation one could ever imagine, as particles have the space to infinitely dilute, disperse, and eventually essentially disappear. forbes.com/sites/cassidyr…

Thread: I spent a year digging into a story about a hiker who was found dead in a tent in Florida for @adventurevida thanks to editors @jeffmoag and @stevecasimiro. The mystery has kept me awake many nights, scouring the web. Here's how my story begins.
"Sometimes I imagine him falling through space, drifting like dust from dead stars in the vast nowhere above us. I see him take shape in the soft light of a forest before dawn. First a fog, then ephemeral form, then living flesh."
Brief synopsis: he was found dead in tent in July 2018. Weighed 83 pounds. No phone. No wallet. No ID. $3,600 in cash on him, along with notebooks filled with computer code. @CollierSheriff @kristine_gill put out a composite and people immediately recognize the man.
