#Datacracy | Being #GDPR compliant doesn't necessarily make companies ready for India's upcoming data protection laws…

By @pabsgill Image
@pabsgill India is ready to take a stab at formulating its first laws to govern data & it is using the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulations (#GDPR) as the template. For companies operating in India, this could end up being a stick in the mud.

#Datacracy #dataprotection
@pabsgill While #GDPR and India’s Personal Data Protection Bill (#PDP) are similar in many ways, the differences between them mean that a company which is compliant in Europe may not necessarily be compliant under the PDP.

#PDP Alerts INEC of Moves to Replace Results in Edo North
…Laments Killings, Cautions Security Agencies

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alerts the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Department of State Services (DSS) of plots by agents
of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to replace election results where the PDP is leading, particularly in Edo North.

While we charge our members to remain vigilant and follow their results “bumper to bumper” to all the collation centers, we however caution the security
agencies against being used to replace results that have already been declared at the respective polling units.

Already, we are aware that results are being manufactured in Kogi state to be used as replacements for already declared results, particularly in Edo North.

1] Im seriously wondering what could be the KEY lessons learnt from the coalition agreement reached between MT & other fringe parties.

So far it has been political headaches

more so because Morgan himself is nolonger around, leaving his former lieutenants in perpetual fights Image
2] A bit of context

The MDC itself, from its inception, was never meant to be a conventional political party, in the modern sense

Rather, a coalition MOVEMENT, bringing different constituencies

These were labour, farmers, lawyers, religion, warverts, women, youth etc
3] However, with time, some coalition partners started experiencing internal fractures

Some simply become disillusioned

Some sought new allegiance elsewhere

ZanuPF itself began infiltrating the movement

Eventually, the core leadership of this movement itself began splitting Image

PDP-Mehbooba Mufti. A #Thread

The latest remarks by PDP claiming to fight #abrogation of #Article370 comes to no surprise. The party helmed by Ms Mehbooba #Mufti has a long history of peddling controversies in #Kashmir to gain political traction

#PDP was founded in 1998 Late #Mufti Mohammed Sayeed. Interestingly he was the state's Home Minister when the fateful abduction of Rubaiya Sayeed(his daughter)took place in 1989. Many believes this was the turning point in #Kashmir's history which propelled it into chaos

PDP Government’s blunders in #BhuranWani incident in 2016 saw a massive breakdown of governance in the history #Kashmir second only to 1989’s unrest.
It marked the revival of #Separatism & #terrorism, which had remarkably waned in the whole of Kashmir, between..

#GNWA, the popular slogan being used by the #PDP to campaign in this current election election. I would like to do a thread and analyze the Nigerian economic experience in the last 40 years, because I believe that the age of most atikulators is within this bracket. A thread...
Dr. Victor Olaiya, in his popular song, released in 1983, titled "ilu le" literarily translated as "the nation is hard" perfectly painted a picture of a country experiencing economic hardship of some sort. A country experiencing prosperity, would not have been said to be hard.
Later in that Era, there was a popular song "Andrew no check out o, Nigeria go survive" a song admonishing a particular citizen named Andrew, not to check out of the country in frustration. The singer further states the very opportunities of wealth in terms of natural resources

Last nights was one of those nights when one felt proud to be a Democrat and a Nigerian - and not just because PDP took a step closer to returning to power but because the interest of Nigerians in the #2019Debate shows that this is a country we all so badly want to be proud of.
The beauty of our Democracy was laid bare for all to see and feel: candidates pitching ideas against ideas, thinking fast on their feet, jousting intellectually, jabbing and parrying, learning and making mental notes - all while we, the Citizens watched and evaluated.
The campaign season is a season where candidates assiduously court the voters - a brief moment where we as citizens can feel empowered, knowing that they’re deploying all their skills just to win our support and debates are best for this: even semi-literates were plugged in.
