Years ago, a friend who was very active in Bar Politics in the Punjab, told me that Punjab bars issues licenses too entirely unqualified persons, just to swell their vote banks. The #PICAttack is the fruit of this strategy.
The 2007 Lawyers movement didn’t help. The already poorly trained Pakistani lawyer was pulled out of the courtroom on to the street never to be sent back. The #PICAttack is the fruit of that strategy.
In 2012 I spoke at an event in Karachi highlighting these issues. After the talk a senior bar leader walked up to me and called me a troublemaker. He would rather criticise than introspect. #PICAttack is the fruit of that strategy.
