A fair, credible election has been held & has been won. The honor of that victory and the steep responsibility it entails has fallen on me. I say this not to gloat or boast because

there is no room for such behavior. I merely state the facts as they are.

I realize many good & well-meaning Nigerians voted for other candidates. They are naturally disappointed that their favored candidate did not win. Other candidates have voiced their dissatisfaction,

stating they will go to court to contest the election. This is inherent to the democratic process. We defend their right to seek legal recourse.
While they exercise the legal rights afforded them in our democracy, I have set my course & mind on the leadership of this nation.

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has dismissed the news reports about alleged theft of data of 7.82 crore residents from UIDAI’s Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR)... 1/n
...which has been published in a section of media in connection with the news relating to the FIR filed against IT Grid (India) on the basis of a complaint by Telangana Police. 2/n
UIDAI said that it’s CIDR and servers are completely safe and fully secure and no illegal access was made to its CIDR and no data has been stolen from its servers. 3/n

UIDAI hereby dismisses a news report appearing in social and online media about Aadhaar Enrolment Software being allegedly hacked as completely incorrect and irresponsible. 1/n
The claims lack substance and are baseless. UIDAI further said that certain vested interests are deliberately trying to create confusion in the minds of people which is completely unwarranted. 2/n
Claims made in the report about Aadhaar being vulnerable to tampering leading to ghost entries in Aadhaar database by purportedly bypassing operators’ biometric authentication to generate multiple Aadhaar cards is totally baseless. 3/n

In view of the attempts by few Aadhaar opponents to spread rumours and scare mongering against Aadhaar in the backdrop of appearance of an old Aadhaar helpline number in mobile phones... 1/n
...it may be noted that the Google has clarified that UIDAI’s old contact number 18003001947 was added by it “inadvertently” along with police/fire number 112 in 2014 and has since been continuing through sync mechanism. It has also expressed its regret for the same. 2/n
Google has also assured that it will fix this inadvertent error in their next release and stated that the users may, if they wish, can delete the number. 3/n
