A an interesting story from Netaji's life with a linkage to today ...

In 1910, two young men had met Revered Swami Brahmanandaji, the First president Ramakrishna Math & Mission - Subhas & Nirmal.

Both the young men expressed their ardent desire to become monks of the Order.

However, while the Satyadrashta in Swami Brahmanandaji accepted Nirmal's candidature to join the Order, he declined & forbade Subhas Chandra Bose, saying he had to accomplish great work by staying outside the Order.

Nirmal went on to become Swami Madhavananda, the Ninth president of the Order, while we all know what happened to Subhas Chandra Bose.

It’s a mystery that nobody knows clearly what happened to Netaji after 1945s purported plane crash, but 2 things are clear…
1)Netaji didn’t die on 18th August 1945.
2)NEHRU played a big big role in this.
What is clear
is that if Subhas Bose had returned to India, rather than either been killed in an air crash or gone permanently missing, he would have easily been the most popular leader in the country, and could quite possibly have displaced Mahatma Gandhi's favourite, Jawaharlal Nehru, from
the effective leadership of the Congress party and consequently the Prime Ministership. Given the fact that Netaji attracted both Muslims and Hindus to his fold in like manner, there is a high probability that a Bose-led Congress could have checkmated the plans of both Whitehall
