What is #Pathocracy?

They discovered that there is a fundamental distinction – a distinction that reflects one of the most profound divisions in the human species – between what Lobaczewski calls normals and the pathological.
Normals are, basically, those humans that experience significant levels of compassion, empathy and conscience and hold, to a significant degree, values such as cooperation and peace.
A form of govt. interesting to ponerologists is one they have called #pathocracy, in which individuals with personality disorders (esp. psychopathy) occupy positions of power & influence. The result is a totalitarian system characterized by a government turned against its own ppl
A pathocracy may emerge when a society is insufficiently guarded against the typical and inevitable minority of such abnormal pathology, which Łobaczewski asserts is caused by biology or genetics.
He argues that in such cases these individuals infiltrate an institution or state, prevailing moral values are perverted into their opposite, and a coded language like Orwell's doublethink circulates into the mainstream,

There are many different ways to view recent sinister developments in Boris Johnson’s UK & Trump’s USA, process, but perhaps the most important is to view it as a part of struggle to preserve democracy from destruction at the hands of damaged individuals lacking in conscience.
The wave of democratic erosion around the world is undisputable. What’s less appreciated is the role that individuals with personality disorders play in this process, which disrupts our expectations of how things work, based on the normal psychology we commonly & tacitly assume.
I'm torn.

She was like “how the hell is anyone supposed to make an informed decision?!” and all I could say was they expect us to make uninformed, political decisions from the gut, per Trump’s request. The GOP’s dishing out cult kool aid & just waiting to see how many deplorables drink it.
My friend’s 39 & White and has met plenty of like minded, liberal friends in her neighborhood, so to hear her process this moment really crystallized the battle being waged in the burbs between the 53% & 47% for me. Imagine being sent to slaughter by White MAGAt peer pressure. 🥴
The Trump/Barr goon gestapo in Portland is blatantly fascist on multiple levels but it also seems like the majority of analysis on this topic still VASTLY underestimates the degree to which it’s targeted GOP retribution against Portland’s penchant for *White liberalism/anarchy*.
In other words, this is yet another link in the chain of White on White crime for the purpose of maintaining White supremacy. It’s Kent State-esque and it’s meant to terrify White liberals, and more importantly, moderates away from becoming reliable allies to marginalized people.
Admittedly I find the whole thing ironic b/c over the yrs as I’ve discussed my POV on America’s endemic racism as a Black woman in TX, Portland (and OR in general) is invariably the location folk offer up as a prototype for liberal utopia, despite its history of White supremacy.
