Can you believe these sadistic pigs? Right in the middle of great tweets by @WilliamJordanUK & @LalehAmeri (#WEFPuppet #WEF) a pharma influence attempt pops up. Guess who runs this rag named @PhRMA?: Thing #1 @AlbertBourla & his gang! Block @PhRMA (...pass it on...PLS RT)
@WilliamJordanUK @LalehAmeri @PhRMA @AlbertBourla Here is what @PhRMA does in Washington DC via "Vote For Cures" (Linked at the bottom of @phrma's site: votersforcures.org/take-action (I bet @SpeakerPelosi & @DNC won't like this...& their tears will fill my shot glass, but all the same, you'd better increase their kick-backs, @phrma!)
Wow @PhRMA , you really get around...I am sure this pull is just a coincidence...

As a global health prof, I have serious thoughts about this. /1 🧵⬇️

Pressure Mounts to Lift Patent Protections on Coronavirus Vaccines nytimes.com/2021/05/03/us/…
#BigPharma interest in in developing new and necessary vaccines, let alone new antibiotics, has been waning for years. This is in spite of ⬆️ antibiotic resistance. There's no lack of demand for new vaccines & antibiotics. /2

If market demand drove innovation, we'd see a lot more new vaccines, antibiotics, but instead drug companies invest in drugs that ppl take over long term, and drive up the costs of those drugs for primarily chronic illnesses which people MUST TAKE to live /3

📣 Ahead of tonight’s big speech: I have no idea if he’ll give an update on ACA enrollment, but if he does, I’m guessing he’ll announce over 1.0 million ADDITIONAL exchange enrollees via HealthCare.Gov alone since the relaunched enrollment period started on 2/15.
According to @JStein_WaPo, it sounds like Biden will be proposing $200B to make the expanded #ACA subsidies permanent, but no other major healthcare provisions *at the moment*. This actually makes more sense than you may think given this poll: acasignups.net/21/04/27/huh-s…
Having said that, the WH resistance to going bigger in healthcare *at the moment* seems to center around passing #HR3 to pay for other stuff, which is fiercely opposed by #PhRMA.

A government spokesperson said: “The NHS is not, and never will be, for sale to the private sector, whether overseas or domestic." If that's the case then make the negotiations transparent so we can judge for ourselves. bit.ly/2BUIcQo
When it comes to drug prices any agreement will not speak about "privatising the NHS". It will use language such as "competitive market derived prices"(e.g US/Korea FTA) - meaning let industry set the price - alongside "positive" terms like "transparent", "value" and "innovation"
And if you want to understand #PhRMA's thinking on trade this is a good insight. Page 4 has a whole section called "Eliminating Government Price Controls". onphr.ma/31V3dFc
