In 2019, I was browsing at the Crossword bookstore when I stumbled upon a beautiful poem. I added the book to my wishlist, but unfortunately, it remained there for quite some time. Despite searching for it at various locations, I could not find it.
After a considerable amount of time, I was finally able to locate the book in an online store. The long wait is over, and I am eager to have it in my possession finally. It's time to dive into its pages and get lost in its words.

One of my support ppl right now

(I have like a team of 17 support ppl bc this workplace harassment been going on a minute so obviously I have team of support ppl & I told each "dont be obvious on social")

is indubitably watching me tweet & abt to txt:
How do I know? Because that specific support person? That is her only thing she says. She says, "I am here to tell you to get off the internet" and I say back "thank you very much. That is excellent advice. For someone else. You still wanna support tho?" and she says, "YES."
She is my designated Le Tigre.

I am thinking about publicly naming

1) the male co-worker in my department who kissed me without my consent while I was standing by my car in disabled parking outside Gaines Street Pies

and

2) his wife, who witnessed her husband kiss me without my consent
I have not named either of these people for a number of reasons, but primarily: 1) these people taught me poetry; they brought me into poetry; they introduced me to the very art that I practice and
2) I would like to believe in a world where restorative justice is possible. I have spoken to a colleague about restorative justice and about whether that colleague thinks it is possible in this situation

I have to ask
Why are you racist
spouting scripture
telling lies?

How can you qualify
yourself, a moral authority,
while endangering
community lives?

People need
housing, healthcare,
therapy,
Clean water to drink.

While you fight
for rich and
well-connected… #thread
Society is on the brink!

Every human
matters here
not only people
you approve or control

Standby for what?
More lawless behavior?
Can’t peacefully vote
at the polls

Women’s bodies politicized
Schools unsafe
People canceled
Books burned

Awakening again
to violence and death
Empty prayers
No lessons learned.

I have to ask
Where is your love
for people
evident in your work?

On second thought
asking is futile
Light makes no
exception for dirt.

It's been 2 years since you passed away and the void in my heart is still empty and aching. Just wrote out few lines on you to reminisce those memories with you and help me grieve better..
An ode to My Father

You never said I'm leaving
You never said goodbye .
You were gone before
Only god knew why
Those long walks with you as a kid
Taking shelter in your arms when tired
Those long discussion and funny stories you used to tell
I should do best & be happy, that was what you desired

The Flame Would Someday Reach My Hand

How is it that we can walk the shores after a storm
With nothing more than our thoughts in mourn
And still find our way home?
How is it that the lies between you and me
fail to conceal
fail to reveal
a single truth?

And how is it that a kingdom can rise
With the powers, fears, and lives of a world within
And still be reduced to rubble
A kid’s forgotten lesson?
How can it be that we stare death in the face and act like we do, every day?
We do that every single day

If it’s true that the only two knowns in life are change and death
How can it be that we hold onto the past so?
If it’s true that all you need is love
Why is it laced with sadness so?
How is it that we’d sooner walk away from love
Than say we’re sorry
Or admit a wrong?

my brain and
heart divorced

a decade ago

over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become

eventually,
they couldn't be
in the same room
with each other

now my head and heart
share custody of me
I stay with my brain
during the week

and my heart
gets me on weekends

they never speak to one another

- instead, they give me
the same note to pass
to each other every week

and their notes they
send to one another always
says the same thing:

"This is all your fault"
on Sundays
my heart complains
about how my
head has let me down
in the past

and on Wednesday
my head lists all
of the times my
heart has screwed
things up for me
in the future

they blame each
other for the
state of my life

there's been a lot
of yelling - and crying

A stadium at max capacity,
Rafters shake from the voracity,
Challengers step on the floor,
The crowd goes silent, they're not adored,
Their torch is of ignorance and ire,
Their flame a raging dumpster fire,
Behold their lack of common sense,
The Anti-Vax Games have commenced,
All year competitors will train,
To hone a craft that's inhumane,
They've perfected their disdain for facts,
And belligerent childish attacks,
"Standing on guard", self proclaimed heroes,
Mentally masturbating egos,
Their selfishness on full display,
The main events are underway,
Hypocrisy high jump starts the night,
As they try to elevate THEIR rights,
A single bell ring of defiance,
As they go toe to toe with science,

I was looking for a place with no broken hearts,
I was looking for a place with no darkness,
I was looking for a place with no wreaked ships,
I was looking for a sign
It was about time, that I had to call it quits, because there was no time left and no unbroken heart left.
It was then I realised, the light didn't emerge from the unbroken.
It emerged from the creeks that the broken hearts had.
The light traced it's significance from where the dark prevailed.
I wasn't looking for no broken hearts, but a sign of hope.
I found light stays only when darkness prevails

A Thief From The Sky

Soaring like an angel
Her eyes stare
Like a messenger on a wrong track
Her path swings
Speedily her venom strikes
Beyond her bars
Into the territory that knows her not
Vum! She is with the sky
Her abode of comfort
The children of the ground
Are now in pain and sorrow
Her young are missing
Like a mysterious light
With speed, she disappeared

You're a thief and a destroyer
The fate of the race without prayer
Give us our daily bread she preys
On the blood of the flesh without skin
That we may feed our bodies for more feathers
To the glory of the sky life we further
Food we must eat for survival
For the fittest strangles the large meat
To narrow the wide arrow of men

- "A Warning to the Hollow Men" -

In the cool shade of evening I saw them -
The Hollow Men.
They sloughed their skin and spineless
danced in the shadows that no one saw.

1/8
They were already dead though they live.
They were starving despite feasting.
Victims of their own design, they played
the very hand they had dealt themselves.

2/8
And who can awaken the Hollow Men?
Sound the alarm! Fire! Fire!
Can they hear us with a head full of straw
and a heart full of law?

A POOR LIFE THIS IS ...
(My take on William Henry Davies's classic )

A poor life this is , filled with selfies and numerous check in's ,
We make no time for those in despair , including our kin. +

#HenryWilliamDavies Image

No time to spare , or even share a few words of care ,
For those who need our time ,we gift them a solitaire .

No time to soak in the beauty of #nature and let ourselves free,
For we are too busy posing and posting , akin to a wannabe! +
3/6
No time to fathom what one ought to do with one's life,
For we all are preoccupied in proving ourselves right ;thereby causing others strife.

No time to extend a helping hand , but tweeting aplenty ,
For we all secretly wish to be labelled as a "cognoscenti". +

A Christmas prayer
amid a raging world

#poetry #poetrycommunity

cover the tree with ornaments
wrap your home with blinking red lights
make a plate of fat chocolate chip cookies
and then pray that Santa makes all of his flights
the Yuletide specters have formed a choir
and they’re singing outside your of door;
a couple of songs of a hope that’s born again
and a lovelyullabu about the end of all war
there’s a pair of used wine glasses in the sink
and a couple plates that smell of old gravy
the proud feast that has come and gone was
held in the honor of a 2000 year old baby

Self Pity.

A dusty path,
But there are cleaner routes,
Yet, you chose to be soiled with earth,
Standing mocked before elites,
Your confidence muffled by a swathe of flies,
Your nose piling up unused water that dripped down your jaw.

You chose to be robbed of choice.
Ambiguity

The mother of errors,
Always unknown,
Muddling right in a wrongful way,
Pointing evil in an unstoppable direction,
It never meant harm,
But brings blood to the table,
How did it nestle all alone?
Waving to no-one in motion?
