My article discusses how social scientists can use online media to investigate the causes of war. I argue that the Internet is not just a propaganda dump but also a treasure trove of important information from conflict zones. #ProcessTracing
To illustrate my point, I investigate the occupation of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine in April 2014. I argue that the available #OSINT evidence justifies characterizing Igor Girkin/Strelkov and his group of armed men as an informal Russian state organ.

If there was no bigger issue with confirmation bias, there would not be much benefit in talking about blinding in qualitative research.
