Doghouse came about after I saw local activists @judesherry & @frank_oconnor posting derelict and vacant properties in their local community. I thought it would be helpful to make a place to aggregate and present these for all to see and uncover #DerelictIreland
The name comes from the phrase "in the doghouse" i.e. to be in a state of disgrace or disfavour. A lot like the housing situation for #GenerationRent both in Ireland & worldwide. The question asked by activists was simple - why are we wasting so many resources?

Additional data from non-gov orgs could provide context to public records. In a universal property information network, consumers and professionals would be able to view multi-producer historical information about real property to make more educated, data-driven decisions.

Historical public records data needs to be aggregated and new data needs to be collected going forward (not rocket science). These records are collected at the county/city/township level depending on which body is the parcel granting/deed recording org in each geography.

DLUHC has recently released bulk data for EPCs lodged to the end of 2021. That dataset contains 22,243,396 EPCs.
UPRNs have been allocated to 20,551,337 records (92%).
Of those records, 8% of UPRNs were allocated by energy assessors and 92% by matching to OS AddressBase.

How many properties are there on the EPC register? Nobody knows.
EPCs are only required when a property is built, sold or rented, and are valid for ten years. A property may have multiple EPCs. There is no mechanism for updating the register when a property is demolished.
