For past 4 yrs volunteer community organizers of @cjecofficial @NAASDLA put in thousands of hours of work to produce what you now know as #AB3121 & #SB189. We consulted legal, legislative and policy experts. We gathered input from dozens of listening sessions throughout CA.✊🏾💪🏾
We worked closely w/ Dr. Weber, Dr. Darity and a multitude of state and local elected officials. We even brought @icecube into the process.

We amended #AB3121, got it passed into law and, defeated an attempt to change the eligibility intent of the statute. #LineageVote ✊🏾💪🏾
We conducted surveys and produced countless pieces of marketing content directed at raising awareness in the CA #Freedmen community about #Reparations efforts in the state.

Everything we have done was to inform our people and bring them/ their input into the process. ✊🏾💪🏾

1/3 Piecemeal “reparations” at state, local, private institutional, or individual levels will undercut movement for a comprehensive national plan that entirely eliminates the racial wealth gap. They are a dangerous diversion from the path to justice. researchgate.net/publication/35…
2/3 Harvard, an institution with a $53 billion endowment, sets aside a petty $100 million as its act of “reparations.” Far better to use its clout and influence to form a coalition to lobby and petition Congress for a comprehensive national plan for #purereparations.
3/3 And who knows who came up with the silly Arizona pledge campaign. If private donors put $1 billion into a fund for reparations each month it will take a millennium to reach the minimum $14 trillion required to close the wealth gap. The federal government must pay the debt.

1/ 6 I would prefer not to invest my time in responding to such shoddy research as the so-called Harvard “disinformation” study, but I’ve received so many comments and requests, I’m compelled to do so.
2/6 A central problem is the lack of clarity over whom was identified as the “voices” of ADOS. The report ultimately reads like an extension of the old “Russian bots” smear campaign against ADOS.A shabby process of determining whose Tweets are evaluated produced a desired result.
3/6 Very few ADOS voices on Twitter, if any, ignored or dismissed the COVID-19 crisis. @camglamming, for example, has been vigilant. @IrstenKMullen and I wrote about how the
pandemic reinforced the need for #purereparations last April.

Thread: I think this is an opportunity to talk about different "pro-black" ideologies. Its past time black people openly have discussions about black "nativism" vs Pan-Africanism and citizenship vs separatists ideology. #icantbreathe #BlackTwitter
While I do understand the natural reaction, anyone telling you that black people need to just "separate" themselves from white folks, respectfully, doesn't what the hell they're talking about. A lot of our communities are already "separate".
..and even if we did build our "own " Chinatown or little Italy. It would still be on U.S soil and subject to laws, white supremacist ideology and white fragility. We've done that before and yall act like y'all don't know what happened. We are here to eat the failures of America
