1942 ఆగస్టు 8 న, బొంబాయిలో గోవాలియా ట్యాంక్ మైదానంలో చేసిన క్విట్ ఇండియా ప్రసంగంలో గాంధీ డూ ఆర్ డై కి పిలుపునిచ్చాడు.
క్విట్ ఇండియా ఉద్యమం యొక్క స్వర్ణోత్సవానికి గుర్తుగా 1992 లో రిజర్వ్ బ్యాంక్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా 1 రూపాయి స్మారక నాణెం జారీ చేసింది.
