Let's take a detailed, comprehensive look at under-24 strikers from the top 5 leagues. This study considers both conventional centre forwards as well as players who switch between the wings and the central "9" role.

Data thanks to the brilliant @fbref as always! (THREAD) Image
Output is fundamental for any young striker and the sustainability of a striker's output can be measured in xG and xA. The graph shows us that Haaland and Gabriel Jesus have superb movement while Werner is a considerable all-round threat. #BVB #MCFC #RBL Image
Does your favourite young striker like getting on the ball, and if so, where does he get the ball? Werner loves being involved in general play while strikers like Tammy and Lautaro prefer taking few touches, with most of them being in the box. #RBL #CFC #Inter Image

📢 NEW - NSxG maps 📢

Time to introduce something I've been working on lately. It's called non-shot (NS) xG maps and they look like 👇

In this thread I'll try to explain what they are, why they're useful and how they can be used!

@EveryTeam_Mark @MarkTaylor0 @Tussendelinies @tactipedia @Tacticsplatform @joe_mulberry @DanKennett @StatmanDave @elpivoteftbl @experimental361 Why do we need NSxG maps? NSxG maps can help speeding-up and improving the proces of video analysis.

Usually analysts watch hours of video footage, in order to understand how a certain team plays: how do they create dangerous attacks? Which players are most dangerous?
@EveryTeam_Mark @MarkTaylor0 @Tussendelinies @tactipedia @Tacticsplatform @joe_mulberry @DanKennett @StatmanDave @elpivoteftbl @experimental361 But what if we let the data tell us where to look?

▶️ Enter NSxG (or similar metrics like xT or PV)

By plotting in which area of the pitch a team makes their most valuable actions (mind you, we are not talking frequencies here!), we know where they get most dangerous from

Bundesliga Young Players to Watch this season, a thread:

One player from each team, must be 23 or under and have played 23 or fewer Bundesliga games (so that excludes the obvious ones like Havertz and Sancho):

👇
Reece Oxford - 20 - Augsburg 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
It feels like Oxford has been around forever as he made his West Ham debut as their youngest ever player back in 2015. His career has stagnated a bit since, but Augsburg have decided to sign him permanently after a loan spell last summer.
Marko Grujic - 23 - Hertha Berlin 🇷🇸
Played 22 Bundesliga games last season so just makes the cut-off, but when he was on the pitch, Hertha were infinitely better. He's gaining more experience on loan from Liverpool and has the ability to be a regular midfielder for Klopp.
