2022 MLS Kit grading thread below ⬇️
Atlanta United FC: A

The color, the pattern, the message. All absolutely incredible!

The fact that this jersey is 100% sustainable fabric and the team is helping the city plant trees? So so amazing. Well done 👏 #UniteAndConquer
Austin FC: B+

The color is phenomenal, especially for an away kit. However, it’s pretty plain beside the unique color. Also wish it was more green to fit their verde color scheme. #AustinFC

Red Bull's team in Brazil, in its first season in the top Brazilian flight, is the second-highest spending club in Brazil.

Meanwhile, #RBNY gets the leftovers from the European Red Bull clubs.

Is this really the expectation for the biggest media market in the country?
There's obviously merit in what RBNY are doing as the trophies and players developed speak for themselves, but the record transfer fees being this low while other RB clubs get a lot more $$$ is kind of crappy. Image
Totally fair. But if they're not going to be ambitious and commit to making RBNY a juggernaut like the other clubs then why have the club?

“Hull City have rejected a fresh £1.75m offer for Leonardo da Silva Lopes from New York Red Bulls as the MLS side continue to court the highly-rated midfielder.”

“Da Silva Lopes has been made a top target of the Red Bulls this month..” hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football…
“He’s not for sale,” said City’s head coach on January 4. “It’s as simple as that. He’s been here for four months and he’s growing every time he plays. He’s getting better and better.”
If Wigan just sold Robinson (a left back) to Milan for $10 million, I have no idea what makes #RBNY thinks they can get a regular starting 21-year-old central midfielder for $2 million.

$2 million won’t get you much at all from clubs trying to get to the premier league.

After enduring a lot of sugar induced hangovers, expensive bar tabs and Excel nightmares, I have now officially tried enough spiked seltzer’s to pair them with every MLS team. Obviously this is very important information and the thread will begin once the EmergeC kicks in...
Before beginning, I would like to note that these are simply my opinions and are not endorsements for any of these brands whatsoever. Anyone who find these pairings inaccurate or wants to complain can email me here: getovrurselfnerd@babywahwah.cry
Atlanta United- Oskar Blues Wild Basin Cucumber Peach: undeniable flavor and super refreshing by all measures. Easily one of the best out there. #UniteAndConquer

Reports from Portugal say that Red Bull are in negotiations to buy Portuguese club C.D. Aves.

That would give them clubs in the top flights of..

USA
Germany
Austria
Brazil
Portugal

Not sure what this would mean for #RBNY in terms of the investment in the club.
In terms of investment and ambition, Red Bull have turned their clubs in Austria and Germany into juggernauts and are looking to invest a lot in Brazil.

While #RBNY have seen success, does their ownership carry that same ambition for them going forward?
I think we’ll have a good answer for that question of what their ambitions look like given how they end up replacing Bradley Wright-Phillips and filling those designated player spots.

According to @SkyKaveh, West Ham have made an offer for #RBNY and #USMNT CB Aaron Long.

The offer was $500k for a loan until the end of the season, with a $4.5m purchase option at the end of the season. Image
No where close to good enough for someone like Long.

If I were #RBNY, the minimum I’d take is $8 million clean.
The problem a lot of #RBNY fans have with selling players is not believing that that money will be poured back into the club. It all goes into the Red Bull pile and we’ve seen RBNY doesn’t get a big slice of that.

Red Bulls are targeting 23-year-old Aberdeen striker Sam Cosgrove.

Cosgrove has 20 goals in 26 games in Scotland this season. Would be a pretty great signing from #RBNY. dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football…
"New York Red Bulls have also looked at Scotland and Dundee United striker Lawrence Shankland but the Aberdeen striker is the preferred choice."

Cosgrove would be a great signing. First things that jumps off the tape is that he's built like a linebacker.
Cosgrove is 24. Sorry.

I finished my #USMNT rewatch:

• Team selection is the core issue right now. Trapp, Zardes & maybe Boyd (still want to see more) aren't up to the level that's needed in these games
• Could see immediate improvement re: attacking combo play when Sargent replaced Gyasi
• Zimmerman has been poor since Gold Cup. Not sure what happened b/c he was so good before that.
• None of the CBs was able to dip their shoulder and carry past the pressing Mexican front line. Didn't happen a single time all game long.
• I am legit concerned about Weston McKennie, who's gifted but still so scattershot & naive re: how he brings those gifts to bear. Need Wagner to spend a lot of time molding him
• Pulisic played hard but was selfish & slow of thought (37th min non-breakaway, late overlap)
