1. #ArmChairGenerals How many remember Republic Day 2016 when 50 “highly decorated” Lieutenant Generals of the Indian Army were conferred awards for ‘distinguished service’. Ironically,the majority of them were based either in Delhi or in peace posts. READ newindianexpress.com/thesundaystand…
2. #ArmChairGenerals It has become absolutely customary to ‘distribute’ these ‘arm chair’ awards after a person attains a Maj Gen or equivalent rank. It goes by seniority, Command Stream, Lanyard, Rank, Residual Service, Blue Eyes, I mean anything. Each has an entire HQ of staff.
3. #ArmChairGenerals The ‘Staff’ is highly qualified and gets posted on merit. Each looks after his portfolio independently, each senior staffs career progress depends on Generals pen. A Maj Gen practically has no task since forces have absolutely drawn on concrete procedures.
