This is a thread on #RahulBajaj 's criticism of the NaMo regime, based on my 32-year experience as a business and economic journalist
Powerful business czars usually prefer backroom channels to voice their grievances against govt. That usually works for them. What Bajaj says is a measure of the environment today. Yes there are precedents from the past that NaMo acolyte rhetoric tries to mask.
Many captains of industry have, however, spoken their mind, usually to express something that bothers them, but couched as reflecting a greater common good. The most obvious examples are those by influential IT industry honchos - Azim Premji and Narayana Murthy come to mind easily

Hardly a surprise #RahulBajaj said what he said yesterday. A short thread from my notes of a 2007 interview I did with him on being anti-establishment.
‘Having been born in an illustrious family that was closely involved in the freedom movement, I was always aware of the legacy I inherited from my grandfather Jamnalal Bajaj. I was only four when he died and therefore I did not have an opportunity to see him up-close...’
’..but the stories and incidents from his life was something we grew up with, and they had the biggest influence on me. Just 15 days of his death, Gandhiji called a meeting of 200 of his closest followers and told them that as the Congress trustee Jamnalalji was taking care of..’

Few things on #RahulBajaj

> this fellow Rahul Bajaj is very arrogant. During a CII meeting in Delhi he had misbehaved very badly with Gujarat CM.

> remember NaMo was not only BJP leader but also publicly elected CM. Yet this arrogant gasbag misbehaved

Cont'd..
It was in response to this misbehavior that all Gujarati Businessmen decided to set up their own organisation against CII

Remember it was not only insult of any political leader but insult of democratically elected CM of the state

Glad that Gujaratis had shown CII its #aukaat
So CII had then sent an apology letter for the behavior of these arrogant gasbags and crony capitalists.

But remember Mr. Bajaj never expressed any remorse for behaving like this with an elected leader.

This when he himself had been an MP once.
