Yup. No one has said that we must become Astro-CNN for the world. My mental health has improved greatly.
A rant to follow up on this cuz it's a Mars day, and I've thought a lot about this. I see many new astrologers stressed and burned out often about keeping a daily social media schedule with astrology. So, I want to say a few things. They may be shocking & piss off some folks.
But what else is new for me.
Yesterday in true Franco-German fashion, the two countries celebrated 60 years of Elysée Treaty. If I haven't posted anything about it, it's because as a Franco-German myself, I'm truly disappointed with how the relation is going - for years now. Let me tell you why. /1
I've had enough of "dialogue formats" and "cultural encounters". The reality is: The political relationship is strained at best; citizens couldn't care less about their neighbours; there is little funding available for cooperation; less and less people learn the language. /2
The civil society sector is heavily status-quo oriented, & anyone who wants to improve things in the slightest is sidelined. There are signs of hope though, with some 'younger' people doing great work - but it remains rather limited./3

For at least the past century or more a republic has been considered a form of democracy. Little more needs to be understood (but, of course, I will over-explain).

Recalling the Founders and their references to "democracy" does not prove your point. As democracy has spread around the world since then, our understanding and application of the term has changed. Keep up.

Oh even 2014 for a Wellcome Trust Science Learning+ call. After that Leverhulme, EU, Nuffield. Sure, it could have been the case that the proposal wasn't as well written as others, but I'm still annoyed that the ideas seemingly didn't even get a look in.
Remember, this was six years ago, so maybe there is more movement now, but then it wasn't. The Wellcome call was about different themes, including engagement in STEM and equity.... see informalscience.org/projects/fundi… - also check the projects that were funded.

The data doesn’t lie even though *you* have an outlier/anecdotal story of youth ministry being helpful for kid X or you personally. So what? The exception doesn’t disprove the data-driven rule. Fathers are more important to a student’s faith than youth pastors ever will be.

When I am in a worship service with a huge pipe organ, I note how impressive it sounds - how regal and important. I also note how I feel like it is basically bullying me the whole time.
It feels like the organ is what is musically most important and if the congregation wants to sing along, they can, but they are not needed. Plus, we can't hear each other anyhow because the organ sonically takes up the entire room.

My anger about this today comes from a comment a Black woman made to me about how annoyed she is that the Obama girls "act white."
Full disclosure: this type of comment really bothers me because I've been told for most of my life that I "act/talk white."
