The #AryaSamaj was founded on 10 April 1875 at Bombay (#Mumbai) by Swami #DayanandSaraswati. This monotheistic order laid stress on the values laid down in the #Vedas & was against idol worship.
As a counter to the proselytizing Abrahamic faiths like Christianity and Islam, the #AryaSamaj launched a reconversion campaign called #shuddhi. As the #HinduMahasabha grew in the 1920s, many #AryaSamaj leaders joined it. Shuddhi became one of the Mahasabha's driving forces

#BombayHC bench of Justices Sambhaji Shinde and Nizamoodin Jamadar will shortly hear plea filed by Vikram Bhave, an accused in the #NarendraDabholkar murder case seeking to perform last rites of his father, who died of #Covid19. He seeks to visit #Ratnagiri, his hometown.
Bhave is accused of performing recee of the site, where #NarendraDabholkar was shot down in August 2013. The bench led by Justice Shinde had in May granted him bail. One of the conditions is he shouldn't go out of #Pune where the trial in the case is going on.
Advocates Virendra Ichalkaranjikar and Madhur Rai for Bhave.

The buildings are mainly in brick but the doorways, pillars and sculpture are mostly in two types of stone, which contrast attractively. These are a "blue-green chlorite & local khondalite, a garniferous gneiss with plum-coloured overtones"

Monastery 1 is largest with an overall size of 55 sq m, including 21 sq m for the paved central courtyard. There are 24 surviving cells on ground floor, relatively large & probably occupied by more than one monk. One was used as the monastery treasury.
