So.... I finally made the switch to @zotero as my #ReferenceManager and am absolutely in love with it! ♥️

The Zotfile and Notero plugins are a godsend - delighted with how they make my #workflow seamless.

Here's why: a 🧵

Zotfile lets you
- sync Zotero library across devices through any cloud storage you use.
- Extract annotations from pdfs annotated with other software!
- rename all the pdfs in any format you prefer, save & sync them with your cloud.

Notero syncs Notion + Zotero!

Whenever you add a new paper to synced Zotero collection, a new file is created in a linked Notion database.
Any note you create for that paper will be automatically sent to that file!

So easy to organize & keep track of notes.

Ok #AcademicTwitter. This month, I'm entering my 3rd year of PhD! yayy🎉

I was looking through my 1st research journal and found these "tips" I had written for myself. I thought I'll share them here.

So, here's a 🧵of #PhDtips for those starting their PhD!

1. Maintain a #PhDjournal📒
Experiments, results, failures, meetings w/ guide, seminars, weekly plans, proposal brainstorming, talk prep - everything related to your PhD in one notebook.

(coursework & journal notes can be separate, but I used the same note. 1 note/year for me)
2. Read a lot of journal articles. A lot.
It is the best way to take your research forward!

(I wanted to try the #365papersChallenge, but couldn't keep up. I read way fewer papers than I want myself to. This could be my sign from the universe to step up!)

So the first thread I want to do is tech/applications that have made my science easier and more accessible. Some of them are paid (not always accessible), but I'll try to offer a free version that I've used that may not be as great but worked for me. 1/
I'm not paid by any of these companies and I am welcome to be corrected/supplemented on any of these resources from people in the community. Because we work together, not separately!! So LET'S GO! 2/
Science is hard. And trying to keep track of all the literature can be a pain so I have some resources for that. The trifecta: @RsrchRabbit, @zotero, and Excel Splicer worksheet. 3/
