Sometimes, we wail and groan over non-recognition of our rights by others and make them look like bigots. For me, the real question is, do we recognize these rights ourselves? Imagine boarding a commercial bus from Ilorin to Lagos which is approximately 6hours +.
Assuming that the bus takes off at 11/12am, the times of dhuhr and âasr prayers would commence whilst one is still on the road. How many of us is bold enough to ask the driver to stop for us to offer SalÄt? Remember that in this state, not only will every 4 rakaâat SalÄt become
2, but that one can also combine dhuhr and âasr, (as well as Maghrib & IshÄâi). Instead of asking that our right to worship AllÄh be respected, we remain glued to our seats, hoping to reach our destination and then pray. What if we didnât reach your destination?
