One of our attorneys, @Cristian_S_Tx faced an absurd number of obstacles in representing his client in court with #COVID19 raging on.

Undeterred, he was able to get gloves & a mask and hoped that his glasses would be enough to let him into Pearsall Detention Center.
He and his client were on edge, not even knowing if the hearing was going to happen!

The assigned judge had been out sick for the last several days. The night before the hearing, they were assigned another judge, but then soon after, Cristian was told that judge was also sick!
The hearing was ultimately scheduled with a San Antonio judge.

So Cristian faced a dilemma of whether to go to the courthouse for a video hearing or attempt to go to Pearsall so that he could be at his client's side.

And this is not just happening in Central America, 2 dozen migrants deported to Colombia recently tested positive for #COVID19 as well. #refugeechat

#COVID19 has amplified these barriers. During this pandemic, millions of immigrants have been forgotten by the government and in many cases, targeted and detained by ICE regardless of the consequences. #refugeechat
