This is what allowing high transmission in students in hope of developing herd immunity via infection while not allowing vaccination looks like
Does UK schools policy look more like NYC or the herd immunity by infection strategy of Sweden and Netherlands last year?

Herd Immunity 2.0
Fully vaccinate over 40s then let it rip through the rest to reach herd immunity.

Why do you think they won't even allow masks in classrooms?

SAGE modelling released after the briefing shows gov have factored in large scale infection of the under 40s and lots of school disruption, so all that concern about loss of learning?
Where has that gone now thousands of students are being isolated?
The plan to wait until school hols before Step 4 shows they recognise the role schools are playing in transmission, and yet they do nothing,

They think its acceptable infection, I think its preventable.

Its going to be "bumpy"

Secondary students are seeing largest rise of Delta cases.
Children are much less likely to be harmed but they are "more transmissible"

Then he twice ignored questions about why masks have been removed in secondary
2/ Higher transmissibility in school children

Higher transmissibility in school children!

No answer on masks

No answer on masks twice!
3/ Which is a bit odd seeing as I've been fed a daily diet of being told that there's no sign of meaningful transmission in schools and that children hardly transmit

Media have found lots of experts and pediatrics quite certain theres nothing to see here

They quote data from March, ignore the data released yesterday which was only up to 11th May.

So this is before masks were removed in secondaries and wider restrictions were relaxed

While the Treasury baulks at the cost of lost learning, Johnson seems comfortable with Delta spreading in schools which will result in more disruption.

Whatever this government says education clearly isn't a priority

The government is suppressing data on Delta B1.617.2 cases in schools, this could have implications not just for the UK but for the rest of the world, and yet most our media are giving Johnson a free pass on this.
