In our 30+ years of service we have seen thousands of families impacted by cruel and inadequate immigration policies that have targeted them as “criminals” simply because they chose to search for home and safety in this country.
Section 1325 (which criminalizes entry into the U.S.) and Section 1326 (the criminalization of re-entry) under the Immigration and Nationality Act need to be repealed. These laws have separated families long before Zero Tolerance was implemented.
We HAVE other measures that catch those who pose a real threat to public safety, human and drug traffickers. We don’t need laws that criminalize families seeking safety and refuge! #Repeal1325and1326
