Refugees I met at the border camp in Tijuana include:
-Unaccompanied children whose parents were killed by gangs, cartels or corrupt gov’ts
-Hundreds of Haitians and other Black refugees who have waited 1-2+ yrs for a chance to present themselves to US border officers
(Con’t)
-Multiple Central American families whose kids have been kidnapped, raped, and assaulted during their forced wait in Mexico
-Single mothers with children who have serious disabilities/medical issues who could not obtain treatment in home country or in Mexico
(Con’t)
-Cuban and Nicaraguan political dissidents
-Russian ethnic minorities who suffered severe persecution there
-Hundreds of cold, hungry children under the age of 5.

There were many, many more. All deserve to live in safety with dignity #RestoreAsylum
