That the last elections was heavily flawed is not in dispute anymore.
The clamor by some people that the declared winner shouldn't be sworn in until the end of petitions or what pending they want is an evidence
that too many "Nigerians" who claim to be political aware are too much of ignoramuses, or just people shouting their heads off , just to be seen as relevant.
The judiciary is obviously heavily flawed, and the tripartite nature of the results also ensured a divided front
So those clamoring for "No handover" are in reality calling for an end to democracy.
Military or Fascist leadership have failed in the past decades, the challenges of the recent elections should be an eye opener to many more people of the dangerous nature of the current systems

The constitutional amendments just signed into law by President @MBuhari offer a hopeful example of the benefits of constitutional #restructuring of Nigeria, of which I have been a strong and unapologetic advocate. Giving states powers to establish railways and to generate,
transmit/distribute electricity will help the economy of our country greatly. I hope states can smartly take advantage of this salutary development. But this is only a beginning really. At issue: should we negotiate a completely new constitution for Nigeria agreed by its peoples?
I think we should, because that is what will best repair the broken trust between Nigerians, and between them and the Nigerian state as a construct. #ToBuildaNation where peace and Justice will reign, the agreement of its constituent parts and ethnic nationalities is essential.

Southern Nigeria has been in a dilemma about the concept of One Nigeria.

On one hand, it was the hallmark of sophistry to support #OneNigerianism, but this mostly meant relegating d good interests of d South

This invariably produced an ambivalence, esp for political leaders. 1/
-who congregate at Abuja to kiss d ring, shout One Nigeria & enjoy d meagre bounties of self interests at d expense of regional geopolitics

For most part of the North, d story is the opposite. Religion steeped in culture & emboldened by structural imbalance, remains supreme. 2/
Down South, most people went about their businesses, esp in the South East & more or less, outsourced political leadership to jobbers.

The result has been years of underdevelopment, punctuated by bursts of communal groups who build rural roads, fund schools & hospitals. 3/

My Nigeria Unity Agenda: Here’s how, as President, I will unify Nigeria, reunite Nigerians, and kill ethnic tensions:
1. Ensure structural justice and equity and increase economic opportunities in all parts of Nigeria. Support #Restructuring back to real federalism.
2. Fairness to all: Equal treatment under the law (no sacred cows, regardless of ethnic/religious affiliation).

3. Transparency. A leader builds trust when he/she has no hidden agenda and this is obvious in leadership actions and policy.

4. Patriotism education and propagation
of a vision of Nigeria that creates unity of purpose amongst all Nigerians. This will also be propagated using mass and social media (no “Twitter Ban”, instead we will use social media for national healing).

One of the largest #loans #restructuring exercises in Indian banking history will kick off in Sept 2020 till March 2021
Let’s see how Modern banking system actually works
#Banking is all about lending activities, if they practise good lending via various advances methods
as approved by the #Regulators they are good businesses or else they can go bust
modern banking system is based on the fractional reserve system
What does fractional reserve means
1) People deposit their savings in the bank in the hopes of earning #interest rates
2) The bank turns around and lends out the vast majority of that deposited money or the bank invests it in other financial instruments (sometimes sound, more often reckless or even toxic) in an effort to make a profit
In other words, banks keep only a small fraction of depositors

At a time most Nigerians want a constitutional restructuring back to real federalism/ devolution of powers to the regions/states, it seems anti-federalism for anyone to be pushing a National Water Resources Bill in @nassnigeria enabling the FG to acquire exclusive new powers.
The proposed bill may also be unconstitutional, as it possibly contradicts the Land Use Act that gives state governors authority over lands in the states. If passed, the water resources bill will provoke violent internal conflicts. It should be withdrawn.
These kinds of potential laws that entrench the status quo should await a fundamental constitutional discussion/debate about how to salvage a distressed country and a new Constitutional order that will help us make real progress. #restructuring

#GeorgeFloyd : 1. Nigeria should learn from the current crisis in America in dealing with ours. Responsibility for policing is local, with Mayors (local government). #StatePolice . #CommunityPolice should be truly local, not from Abuja.

2. @BarackObama just asked young people and citizens to make their government authorities “uncomfortable” with peaceful protests, and America should address the roots of police brutality. This time it’s also different- protests are racially diverse. Nigeria’s youth should do more
#Restructuring is the only path forward for Nigeria. It will improve the security environment when local authorities in Kaduna, Abakaliki or Calabar are empowered to secure their communities, rather than overstretched, federal @PoliceNG

My guest lecture @SAISHopkins @SAISAfrica this afternoon on "Nigeria's Elusive Quest for Develooment". Development has eluded Nigeria because of: a) our crisis of nationhood robs us of the necessary unity of purpose; b) shot-gun, ad hoc and inconsistent policy making. = 94m poor ImageImageImageImage
Recommendations: #Restructuring #MakeVotesCount , Restore intellect/knowledge to politics/governance as in First Republic, invest in skilled human capital, voluntary population control through educating the girl-child, #genderequity

The petition written by the State Governors to President @MBuhari against the NFIU directive on direct payment of financial allocations to LGAs highlights why real grassroots governance is impossible with our present constitution 1/
The Governors’ petition raises intricate legal/constitutional issues that may be hard to overlook if litigated. But the bottom line is: well intentioned though the NFIU directive is, it doesn’t solve the problem 2/
We need a constitutional restructuring to achieve real federalism that can give our citizens effective governance at grassroots level. Let’s stop “admiring the problem” and deal with it. #Restructuring/

It is great that most parties have now identified their flag bearers for the 2019 Presidential Election. In that vain, I'd love to congratulate President @MBuhari of the @OfficialAPCNg, and @atiku of the @OfficialPDPNig as the two major contenders.
The debate is expected to be issue-based, and void of unnecessary propaganda (hopefully) from both camps.

One of such issues is that of #Restructuring which appears to be a major part of @atiku's campaign of which, I am of the view, should be addressed.
#Restructuring, as an issue, is not new. Actually, it was a major part of the campaign of the @OfficialAPCNg back in 2014/15. Atiku was a member of the APC at the time.
