There aren't actually *too* many restrictions on getting books into the SCIs. Allegheny County Jail on the other hand has a TERRIBLE book policy and no library. An admin that doesn't care about keeping people alive can't be expected to care about reading. #bannedbooksweek

The worst part of the policy is that IT'S NOT TRANSPARENT! Even if families order books through barne&nobles they are regularly rejected and people don't why. Often not even notified. They get sent back to the seller and people don't always get their money back. 2/4
We're advocating for a better policy that would allow people to get books from more sources (including us!) and transparency for people on the inside, the people sending them books and the public. ACJ needs a REAL library (and a lot of other things like healthcare!) 3/4
