First an event was organised by Anti nationals in University of Hyderabad in which Rohith Vemula participated as well and they raised slogans in support of separatists in kashmir and supported illegal activities,after this event Rohith Vemula along with other four members of(2/5)

Caste Based Reservation in India Started in 2nd Century BC. In #Manusmriti - the law book of Brahmins all the laws were based on #Caste and no Merit was ever considered. It divided people into High & Low Castes on the basis of their birth and not on the basis of Merit.

Wealth, Political power, Spiritual leadership, Education, Ownership of Land, Trade and all lucrative aspects were reserved purely to the higher castes. This system of caste based discrimination entrenched in day today social life since ages.

I wrote this after #RohithVemula's death. It's not entirely surprising that it remains as relevant today after Dr #PayalTadvi's institutional murder when people are still asking if caste really exists in India.

1. Be aware of your confirmation bias
If you've never experienced caste-based discrimination first hand, you'll simply tend to assume that it doesn't exist. Because that's not your lived experience. But for millions of Dalits, it is their everyday reality. So listen to them. 1/9

2. Learn the history
Try to educate yourself about the exact nature of the caste-based oppressions that are being discussed, because our textbooks don't tell us enough. Figure out for yourself why the reservation and the quota system were needed in the first place. 2/9

Exactly one year ago, one of the most brilliant and fearless Dalit minds of our generation, #RohithVemula was forced to give up on life.
Exactly a year ago, #HyderabadUniversity students faced a severe crackdown with no food,water,electricity on campus for protesting his death
Since that day, his mother #RadhikaVemula & brother #RajaVemula have been traveling the country so no bright Dalit mind is lost like Rohith
In past 10 hrs, besides being trolled, I've been searched on wiki, Facebk (screenshots of my personal acc floated), Instagram & past tweets
A multi directional "HATE ATTACK" has been kind of triggered based on ONE Tweet, where I have linked caste behind violence of #Dalitkids
Regardless of the argument that single tweet has been floated to prove I don't know what I am talking about & that I am dumb.
