Over the last three years, Southern Baptists have shown they're willing to do a lot of things, so long as they are forward-looking. That's great/important.
But true repentance means rectifying wrongs committed, regardless of the toll.

I've spent most of my professional life fighting *actual* theological liberalism. When I see people claiming a "liberal drift" in #SouthernBaptist Convention, or trying to "cancel" some evangelical SBC-ers as "liberals," I'm not sure they even understand their own words. #SBC21

It is not a coincidence that the most outspoken SBC survivors are almost always those who are plagued by guilt/trauma because "leaders" failed to stop their abusers from hurting others.

I am so livid at the SBC Credentials Committee right now I could scream!!! A Thread: Yesterday, a fellow advocate and friend, @writer_dee, spoke with Mike Lawson and Stacey Bramlett via a Zoom meeting on my behalf.
One of the purposes for the meeting was to address their massive failures regarding my submission...Specifically their lack of communication and failure to speak with me. Stacey made a point to say that their decision is final...that it's too late to go back and change anything.
I find this to be extremely disturbing considering they really don't seem to know what they are doing. Remember, they never once made an effort to speak with me regarding my submission even though they claimed to have done so!!!
What's needed for #SBC2021 🧵: 1/ Motion to establish an independent #SBCTruthandJustice Commission on Sexual Abuse in the #SBC, with 7 Comm'n members to be initially named by @BozT, and to be people who are not affiliated with any SBC church or entity.
2/ The function of Comm'n shall be to A) create a safe & transparent process to receive, assess & document reports of sexual abuse committed by any pastor, minister, deacon or staff - current or past - paid, interim or volunteer - of any church or entity affiliated with SBC;
