Mr. Kenyatta’s #SOTN2021 speech was an interesting exercise in obfuscation, given how the data he presented was framed. It can certainly make for interesting course material in future communication course.

Mr. Kenyatta would point to spending plans his administration made and/or implemented, but he conveniently ignored the lethal debt mountain he’s built up since 2013. This, IMO, is the key recurring theme in #SOTN2021
The word ‘debt’ comes up twice in his #SOTN2021 speech - and only one of those actually refers to financial debt.

While the Article 101 of the Constitution doesn't prescribe the content of the Address, it is expected that President would use it as a performance report card of what has been undertaken by government since the last address. Unfortunately, this has never been the case. #SOTN2021
Specifically Objective I(ii) requires the President to report at least once a year the extent of realization of the policy objectives and principles. The provision does not deter the State of the Nation Address from being used as the reporting mechanism. #AccountabilityAndService
