#AmberHeard is a bisexual actress, activist, survivor, and Silence Breaker. In 2015, she filed a restraining order against her ex-husband Johnny Depp after surviving abuse from him.
She was later sued by him after publishing an article for the Washington Post in which she discussed sexual violence, domestic abuse, and how institutions protect male abusers.

Sleep-deprived & heavily medicated, I didn’t understand what was happening. I was forced to lie on a padded table, spread my legs & submit to cervical exams. I cried while they held me down & said, "No!" They just said, "Shut up. Be quiet. Stop struggling or you’ll go to Obs."
This was a recurring experience not only for me but for other #survivors. I was violated & I am crying as I type this because no one, especially a child, should be sexually abused. My childhood was stolen from me & it kills me this is still happening to other innocent children.

Thread: Before I release some correspondence between myself & others in regards to the committee & following #CaringWell I want to point out that some were acting on the only available action/directive they could, I do feel few were doing more behind the scenes & faced such+
opposition due to road blocks by higher authority & mass bullying (as said in Moore's letter) and I heard about that long before that was released, I'd posted many times about the "red tape" "roadblocks" because I knew that the opposition was fierce. Why? Because people like +
RonnieFloyd, Augie Boto, Paige Patterson etc.etc. do not want the lid of sexual abuse stories opened up for questions of handling because it would overthrow/disrupt their power structure. Please note this is why I say we need to tear it down to its roots, new leadership overhaul+

I was told -- "Rena You are not responsible for what happened to you as a child, but you are responsible for your life now as an adult. It's ok to be angry about what happened to you, but it's not ok to stay stuck there. You have work to do, a life to live.
You can't blame others for not being able to help you through your trauma, not everyone is equipped to do so, and many are at the beginning stages of learning how to help survivors through their trauma.
It is up to YOU to find those who can help you and educate them on your experiences so that they can help you heal and help other victims/survivors that follow." This is some of the best advice I ever received.

In March, my friend, Nkiru and I published a 25-page chapter in the Handbook of Interpersonal Violence "Future Directions in Advocacy in Response to Interpersonal Violence" where we talk about policing, social services, and state + interpersonal violence. link.springer.com/referenceworke…
We wrote this before widespread calls to #DefundMPD and mainstream engagement w/ concepts of #abolition, but what I think this writing does is set the groundwork for why divestment from the state (including social services and any anti-violence programs that engage with police) +
divestment from the state is a mandate for survivor safety. policing is NOT an inevitability. state violence is not a necessary by-product of keeping survivors safe. we will never end sexual assault if we don't end the carceral state.

@mega2e I’m a fan of #SheSaid but very disappointed in this piece. #survivors of #domesticabuse #coercivecontrol feared and accurately PREDICTED their #abusers would weaponize the virus as they do any situation or manufacture one, to interfere with the mother-child relationship. /1
@mega2e But your article did nothing 2 differentiate between abusers who are weaponizing the virus against #protectivemothers and parents who are legitimately worried about neglectful parenting & failure to properly social distance. There was no mention of histories of abuse in cases. /2
