Back in the 1970s, for a year or two I taught English to a group of teenage girls in Shatila refugee camp. Most of them, I never found out what had happened to them & their families during the #SabraAndShatila massacre. >

On this day in 1982, US helped Israel massacre at least 1,300 Palestinian & Lebanese civilians in #SabraAndShatila refugee camps.
The massacre was carried out by right-wing militias that Israel had trained, armed, & sent to "do the job" with clear US approval.
The Israeli army used flares at night to light the way for the right-wing Lebanese militias to the refugee camps.
