In 2018, 1 in 5 attempts by our volunteers to register a patient with a GP practice were wrongly refused for reasons that contradict #NHS Guidelines. #PatientsNotPassports Image
The reasons for refusals, with lack of paperwork as most common issue, show that already #vulnerable people, such as destitute people without fixed accommodation or undocumented #migrants, are likely to be disproportionately affected. Image
#GP practices are also inconsistent in their approach to registering patients, with 17% of practices agreeing to patient registrations in some cases and refusing in others. Image
