Seeing as of how this is officially a @neilhimself fan account now, you may have wondered where my allcap frenzy over #Sandman has been. I have a short answer. But you’re getting the long one.
At the age of 25, I was in NY on a soap opera, drinking myself to blackout and starving myself to faintness in an effort to feel loved by the Pretty People. My friend, Eric, knew the me before.
He knew me when I would sit on the ground, absorbed by stories of dragons and witches, laughing gleefully to myself. He missed that person. So he took me to a book store called Dark Horse comics.
So reading about how @neilhimself torpedoed an old (and terrible) #SANDMAN script reminded me of a meeting in San Diego about 12 years ago, when I met with producers who wanted to option HOPE FALLS as a film.

In 2008, @DanBoultwoodEsq and I created HOPE FALLS for @Markosia. It's a story about a woman, Helen, murdered and buried in a shallow grave in a small mining town (the titular Hope Falls) 20 years ago, who returns, two decades later, looking like she hasn't aged a day.

I've never read the books but Game of Thrones was bad in this regard too. Maybe not as bad (maybe? Idk I quit watching GoT early on) but still bad. Is this a GRRM thing or do people thing it needs to be gross and awful as a TV adaptation?

I was a teen back when Sandman was published as an ordinary comic. Truth be told, it blew me away to such a degree that I got a small side gig after school, to be able to afford the Sandman issues when they came out. I live in Sweden and the import comics were not cheap.
But I bought the comics for several years at my local comic book store. And loved it.
It also made me fall in love with the art form of comics in a broader way. So much so that it became a life goal for me to one day create comics.

Allow me to share my @neilhimself story. In the summer of 2013 I exhibited at Comic-Con with artists Bwana Spoons & Le Merde. My 10th year in a row with Bwana at CC! I was a working artist but also did security/doorman work in LA to make ends meet. cont. #TheSandman 
It was the Mon night after the last day of CC when I returned from SD and went straight to working the door at The Bar Marmont still high from all the art and comics I’d just consumed in the 5 days prior in the altered reality that is CC. Cont.
The cultural decompression was too sudden and I was suffering a bit from the bends. Mon at a bar can be slow so that night fate would find me stealing eye fulls from the 2013 CC souvenir book which sported a #Sandman cover illustrated by the unrivaled @DaveMcKean cont.
