#SaveDarfur peaked at a time when the USG had the little leverage to really turn the tide on the ground. But today, USG policies can be a game-changer. The situation is incredibly precarious. Success is not assured. Spoilers abound.
But if our policy is only to support democratic transitions certain of success, then we have no policy. The Sudanese ppl have done this for themselves. The least that countries who say they care about democracy can do is step up in solidarity: washingtonpost.com/opinions/2019/…
