So last week I called my worker and she wasn't in so I left a message with like a backup or intake worker. I received no call back in 72 hours so I called again and requested to talk to her supervisor. Was sent to voice mail and again I left a message.
I have received no call back from anyone and it's regarding getting my medication. Which was initially covered 100% and had been covered for the past six years that I have been on AISH. Well ever since the #kenneyscuts have happened.....I have had to pay out of pocket.
I had to pay out of pocket for the past three months. Thank God that I had family to help cover my mess because just one med alone is $547.00 per month.

I am completely shocked by this! AHS’s funding for the Wilderness Treatment Base Camp (Enviros) has been cut - effective March 31, 2020. This is a publicly funded treatment program for youth 12-17 years old who are struggling with problematic alcohol and drug use.
We are failing our youth and families by eliminating funded programs for addiction treatment. Early intervention is critical for our youth ... it is about preventing long term addiction issues.

It’s funny how @jkenney and the @Alberta_UCP backtracks about the budget!
Kenney ditching the balanced budget narrative real quick UCPers expected the NDP to perform miracles Premier Jason Kenney says the novel coronavirus outbreak is hammering Albertas economy & may force his government to abandon its core election promise to balance the books by 2023
It does appear based on all evidence right now that there is a significant global economic downturn beginning right now Kenney said Friday at an announcement in Morinville, Alta.

From Valley Medical Clinic in Strathmore, Alberta.

Dear Patients of Valley Medical

As you may have heard, the government of Alberta has decided to terminate the Alberta Health contract with doctors, effective March 31st.
They have also decided to implement new changes to how healthcare is delivered starting April 1st.

These changes have been fought by Alberta doctors and the Alberta Medical Association since they were proposed in December.
Unfortunately for Albertans, the government decided to stop mediation between themselves and the AMA on February 14th.

There will be significant changes in the way Albertans receive healthcare as a direct result of these cuts.

“If someone moves on out of affordable housing, we can’t give their unit to somebody else because it doesn’t meet basic life requirements,” said Nenshi......
..... “Without question, this means we are going to close affordable housing units at a point when we need 15,000 more affordable housing units. It might mean we’ll have to close entire buildings.”
A frustrating announcement from the Provincial budget last week. We will be supporting our social-serving agency partners and looking to government leaders to find all the solutions we can, moving forward.

Yesterday I found out that I’m losing my dream job 💔

By the end of this school year, my team no longer exists under the new UCP education budget. I am a Mental Health Therapist (Peace Collaborative Services - PCS) for kindergarten to grade 12 students.
I’ve never felt this strongly connected to a job before. My heart is so invested and I come home every day feeling so blessed and fulfilled ... ask my husband who puts up with the chronic mushiness when he asks about my day!
It’s an incredible role and so many students rely on these services. Parents often have difficulty taking time out of their work day to take their child to a mental health appointment.

Good Question! Ms. Sawhney, Your constituents who are on AISH or Alberta Works would like to know: “How do you sleep at night??” You know....since you have ruined so many lives and even driven people to suicide! Care to respond? @RajanJSaw
Oh I forgot we can’t talk directly to anyone in the current sitting government....is there a number I can call you know to lodge a complaint that will never get looked into? Or would I have to purchase a bus pass in advance with money I don’t have first to travel to your office?

The Government of Alberta has announced a healthcare change for Albertans who are traveling to other countries.

Effective April 1, 2020, they will no longer be covered for elective, non-urgent health services and routine lab tests. Image
The province says this change brings Alberta in line with most other Canadian provinces. Only Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador provide out-of-country care for elective, non-urgent services.
“There will be no change to coverage for emergency health services,” reads a media release from the province. “Unlike the recent change in Ontario, Albertans will continue to be partially reimbursed for insured emergency health services needed when traveling outside Canada.”
