Days of remembrance and tribute are fine and commendable except when they come in place of action and become camouflage. Terrorism isn't a disease but a challenge to governments. My wife and I ask you, @StateDeptSpox @NedPrice, to engage with us. Enough with the mantras.
Since no one at your level in seniority in today's @StateDepartment or those of the Trump and Obama administrations has ever acknowledged our existence, Mr @StateDeptSpox, I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to our child's killer, a Jordanian celebrity.
And since your tweet states your position on the pursuit of justice, Frimet and I assure you we're as passionate about this as you. It's why I met with senior officials in Washington in March 2012. And why we have devoted ourselves since then to seeing Tamimi in a US court.

Jordan's @KingAbdullahII met with @POTUS on Monday, with @SecBlinken on Tuesday. Their spokespeople @JRPsaki and @NedPrice were asked by @AssociatedPress reporters whether the #TamimiExtradition issue was mentioned. Neither one was able to answer this most basic of questions...
Jordan began shirking its treaty responsibility to the US in March 2017. It continues to shelter the world's most wanted fugitive female, the #Sbarro bomber, who remains free and famous despite Jordan's responsibility to hand her over for trial in DC as the treaty requires...
We're the parents of one of the Jordanian fugitive bomber's many victims. Our child, a US national, was murdered at the age of 15. And America's senior leadership isn't sure whether it raised the matter of the @FBIMostWanted terrorist's extradition with #Jordan's ruler.

Many think that as parents of one of the many victims, we urge fury because of how much the #Sbarro atrocity devastated us. It did. But we have warned for years that the dead Jewish children made #AhlamTamimi a Jordanian heroine and the massacre an inspiration to more savagery.
Since we pay close attention to the Arabic media in general, and Jordan's in particular, we see (and relatively few Westerners do) how much support there is for #AhlamTamimi's "resistance" action and the utter absence of Jordanian criticism of what the kingdom has made of her.
The absence of Western media focus on how the orchestrator of a massacre targeting Jewish children has become a hero goes unreported, complicating efforts to urge the fugitive terrorist's extradition to Washington. How major media editors choose what's reported is an education.

There's an explosion of cheering in the Arab media today (like arb.im/1343778) at dismaying reports of confessed pizzeria bomber #AhlamTamimi being removed from @Interpol's Red Notices. Most claim she was "accused" of a role in the #Sbarro massacre. In reality...

clips of #AhlamTamimi not only admitting but boasting of her central role in the blood-soaked barbarism that took 16 lives including our child's are all over the web. Tamimi's backers would probably hate for interviews like this one to go viral: #ExtraditeTamimi

Sunday March 14, 2021 marks 4 years since @TheJusticeDept unsealed US Federal charges against #Tamimi for the American blood she shed. Please support our calls urging officials to finally insist Jordan stops dishonoring its treaty obligations and hands Tamimi over for trial.

Like me, you may be offended or at least puzzled by views you sometimes see slipped into news reports. Could be spin; maybe bias. But only word captures how the mainstream news industry covers Jordan keeping a confessed bomber shielded from US justice.

The word is "silent".
This video clip has never been included in any mainstream news report: #AhlamTamimi, the Jordanian woman who says openly, for the record, that she bombed the Jerusalem #Sbarro pizzeria and calls it "my operation". Watch the smile as she tells it.
Hashemite Jordan could have denounced her, arrested her, tried her on terrorism charges, handed her to US law enforcement (as the treaty demands). Instead they did this: they let #AhlamTamimi host her own terror-promoting TV show, filmed weekly in Jordan's capital, for 5 years!

We're not drawing conclusions yet. #NizarTamimi, convicted murderer unjustly released from life imprisonment in the #ShalitDeal, wasn't deported by Israel. In 2012 we asked High Court to block Israel from letting him cross into Jordan to marry but failed. We're enquiring now.
In fact, Israel imposed conditions on #NizarTammi's commutation of sentence as they did on all 1,027 of the #ShalitDeal releasees. In his case, he was explicitly forbidden from leaving Judea & Samaria. The freedom of #AhlamTamimi, his cousin/wife, was conditional too. More later.
Multiple but unconfirmed #PalArab news sources are reporting this afternoon that #NizarTamimi - husband/cousin of the #Sbarro bomber and a convicted murder in his own right - has just left, is considering leaving or will soon be forced to leave, Jordan. None of it is confirmed.

Every journey and its milestones. Our petition asks @SecPompeo to push recalcitrant #Jordan to honor its treaty obligation to the US and extradite #Sbarro massacre mastermind #AhlamTamimi to stand trial in Washington. It's just gotten its ten thousandth signature. Onwards.
Have we won? No. Winning means changing attitudes in the media, politics and #Jordan. We're asking everyone who respects justice - who understands the catastrophic outcomes of shielding terrorists from the law - to sign. Please click change.org/ExtraditeTamimi
Watch the world's most wanted female terrorist (with a $5M reward on her head) gloat over how she killed the children in a pizzeria. #AhlamTamimi lives in Jordan where the monarchy keeps US law enforcement away and ensures she's free to spread bigoted incitement to more murders.

Here's some context to this Palestinian Arab urge to "bury loved ones". Take a moment to reflect on what the loved ones of the human bomb who devastated the #Sbarro pizzeria did with his remains when they got them. Think what was gained and what was lost.

And while most readers of the tweet from @randawahbe will swallow his creative formulation ("who was murdered by Israeli soldiers") because they're not tuned in enough to the facts, Erekat's death came seconds after he rammed his fast-moving car into them ynetnews.com/article/Skwub6…
Knowing the dead man was part of a hallowed tradition of #PalArabs answering the call to man up and kill some Israelis won't stop the fury of the #PalArab side's advocates. "So what?" they'll say. "Let him just be buried". But everyone loses when the terrorists don't pay a price.

Makes sense that news reports focus on Hamas jihadist hosted by NATO leader despite $5M bounty on his head. But Hamas jihadist @FBIMostWanted #AhlamTamimi, #Sbarro bomber, has the same $5M bounty on her head. Jordan hosts and keeps her safe and free - as news industry looks away.
#AhlamTamimi lives undisguised, never in hiding for even a day, in Jordan's capital city Amman. For 5 years, she hosted a terrorism-promoting TV show from there, beamed throughout the world. She's still an influential columnist, media figure, object of open Jordanian adoration. Image
Here's one mainstream media report that does focus on the illicit freedom enjoyed by fugitive #AhlamTamimi and on how Jordan, a US ally, trashes its 1995 Extradition Treaty with the United States to keep her safe: thisongoingwar.blogspot.com/2020/01/31-jan…

It's hard to find another. Why is that? Image

Today, Sunday August 9, is the anniversary of the 2001 Battle of Sbarro Pizzeria. Arnold Roth wishes others knew what he knows about Malki’s killer.

The Battle of Sbarro targeted children, family groups, mothers with infants in strollers. The bomb was a male human being. He was attached to a case filled with explosives enhanced for flesh-ripping purposes with shrapnel. A TV reporter selected the site and planted him there. Image

The reporter/bomber went on to make a successful TV career in Jordan, giving standing-room-only speeches in other Arab countries. But no one wants her more than the @FBI does. The US announced terror charges against her in 2017. But #Jordan shields her, blocking her arrest. Image

When major parts of the Arabic-language media focus on the world's most wanted female fugitive, Jordan's #AhlamTamimi, it's not to say "How deplorable that we've made her an icon". But, as below, to raise concerns whether Jordan will succeed in keeping US law enforcement at bay.
A reminder to please get behind our efforts to see justice (yes, justice) done. It isn't going to happen unless there's significant US pressure.

If you haven't noticed: Jordan's @KingAbdullahII is one of the world's most interviewed, most welcomed-in-Washington leaders. Yet no investigative reporter, no justice-minded editor, no Mid East analyst has asked a single question of him about his harboring the #Sbarro bomber. Image

In 30 days, it will be 19 years since a #Sbarro pizzeria was bombed with 15 killed, 130 injured. On last year's anniversary, the @ADL Anti-Defamation League posed troubling questions to US A-G William P. Barr re Jordan blocking the bomber's extradition. They're blocking still.
Jordan doesn't claim #AhlamTamimi, the woman who planted the bomb, is innocent. No one does. It's made her an icon, a national hero. The Jordanians stare right back at you if you ask why they breach their 1995 Extradition Treaty and keep her safe and famous in their capital. Image
The US makes clear its treaty with Jordan is valid and binding. And this isn't one of those cases where there's a dispute about who did what to whom. The bomber appears often on Arab TV screens boasting of the details. So why do US Congresspeople duck and weave when we ask... Image

The dignity that comes from massacring a pizzeria filled with children.
Have just watched US Senate hearing into the appointment of an ambassador to Amman.

Guess how much attention the world's most wanted female fugitive living free in the capital of a strategic ally and Jordan's most important institutions shielding her from @TheJusticeDept got.
Simply beyond comprehension that the woman at the top of this thread, who boasts - boasts! - of killing many children including mine, evades US justice and lives like a queen in #Jordan because the US sees pursuing her as destabilizing its Jordanian ally.

The Arabic media we scan daily as we try to get confessed #Sbarro bomber #AhlamTamimi extradited by Jordan to Washington almost never tell Arabic-speaking news consumers what the mass murderer *did*. Commonly call her "symbol of Palestinian resistance" or "hero". #MoralBankruptcy Image

@georgegalloway @BitarReal Have any of those baying for revenge against the Israelis - who had nothing to do with the accidental drowning Friday of a #PalArab boy in Jerusalem - joined our efforts to see the Jordanian woman who boasts of blowing up 16 innocent Jews in a #Sbarro pizzeria brought to justice?
@georgegalloway @BitarReal Hey @RashidaTlaib,

With due respect to all the relevant parties, that doesn't strike me as the right approach. @TheJusticeDept and @StateDept have tried since 2013 to persuade @JordanGov, which is party to an active extradition treaty with the US, to honor its obligations. Jordan's highest court

Practically everything @MattiFriedman writes is incisive and worth the effort. This latest @NYTimes piece comes with a high-res photo of the devastated Sbarro pizzeria minutes after #AhlamTamimi delivered her human bomb there. My daughter's inside, dead. She isn't seen.

My wife and I first heard of #Tamimi, a woman of 21 back then, much later via news reports. She confessed to her key role, never stopped grinning, confidently told the judges she would get out soon despite the 16 life term sentence they gave her.

/3
And she did. She walked free a few years later in the #ShalitDeal. With unreported help from the Kingdom of Jordan she quickly became a celebrity activist there for terror and its practitioners. She still is despite now being an @FBIMostWanted who faces charges in Washington.

To our Jewish friends: As the heart-broken parents of #Malki Roth, a US citizen murdered at 15 in the pizzeria bombing that many remember, we are making serious efforts, against an unhelpful background, to see the central plotter of the #Sbarro massacre brought to justice.

Of all the many disappointments and frustrations that are part of that, none is quite as painful as having our requests for co-operation ignored by Jewish organizations, especially those based in the US. We're not naming names but if you have any influence at any of them...

please urge their leaders to contact us. Getting justice for what was done to our daughter is part of a larger process that ultimately affects all of us. If you think that's going well, we ought to talk.

Meet #AhlamTamimi who killed my daughter #Malki and 15 others. Hard not to see the thrill she gets from talking about her massacre. She's not in prison: #Jordan's king can explain why.
Thanks to @MEMRIreports who do non-Arabic-speakers a great service by translating such clips.
I'm convinced that if enough people invest the 2 mins it takes to watch my daughter's proud, happy and free killer #AhlamTamimi, we'll have enough public opinion behind us to ensure Jordan, which shields her today, hands her over for extradition to the US (they currently refuse).
