A v good friend/teacher (doubly vaccinated)has recently been v unwell, she caught #COVID19 from a pupil in her class.
Many other teachers in the school became ill.
In the few weeks before the end of term, #COVID19 literally ripped through #NorthEast schools & communities.

I am certain that no one wants children to be off school unnecessarily but if cases in school children spiral out of control once more, education will almost certainly be disrupted, again affecting children in the most deprived areas the most.

2/The ongoing educational damage done by CHOOSING NOT to adequately & effectively mitigate for an #airborne virus w/in UK schools (English esp) was completely avoidable.

3/ Our political leaders chose to follow a THEORETICAL #HerdImmunity “strategy” with a novel virus which RELIED ON unmitigated spread within young, fit parts of society & FACTORED IN that sadly some of those would also become seriously ill or die.

2/ Worth beginning with the press release earlier today, dont worry not much work you just need to use January Inset day to retrain as public health officials.
Note that many support staff won't be in as schools cut their training to save money years ago

3/ Step 1 retrain and retitle staff.
100 tests a day will need 9 staff, 11-13 tests an hour per testing bay, so we either need to spend all day testing or have a lot of bays.
How many staff do they think we have in 10 years into a retention crisis deepened by covid?
