@RikeFranke #Ukraine

NEW: #Russian forces conducted another series of strikes against #Ukraine with cruise missiles and #Iranian-made drones overnight on May 28 to 29 and during the day on May 29.

May 29 campaign assessment with @criticalthreats: isw.pub/UkrWar052923 ImageImageImageImage
2/ #Russian forces launched a relatively higher number of missiles than in recent series of strikes following the largest Russian series of #Shahed strikes since the start of the full-scale invasion of #Ukraine on May 28.
3/ ISW previously assessed that RU forces began a new limited air campaign in recent months to degrade UKR counteroffensive capabilities, but that Russia's focus on targeting #Kyiv is likely further limiting its ability to meaningfully limit potential UKR counteroffensive actions

Increasingly regular Russian drone & missile strikes are likely part of a new Russian air campaign in #Ukraine aimed at degrading Ukrainian abilities to conduct counteroffensive offensive operations in the near term. 🧵on the current air campaign ⬇️ isw.pub/UkrWar051423
2/ Russian forces have conducted at least 10 series of strikes throughout #Ukraine, particularly in rear areas, since April 19.
3/ Russian forces have used significantly fewer high-precision missiles in these latest series of strikes in comparison to their failed campaign against Ukrainian critical infrastructure from the fall of 2022 through the winter of 2023.

Hello again and thanks for reading, this is Thursday's #RussiaUkraineWar thread.

It's Day 435 since #Russia launched its full invasion.

I am still recovering from yesterday - what a day. Relive it here:
#SlavaUkraini
Some breaking news, we are learning about repeated explosions in #Zaporizhzhia this morning.

S-300 anti aircraft missiles again being used by #Russia to attack civilians, but monitoring groups say one exploded just after launch, before it crossed the frontline.

It's noisy.
The weather has improved in #Ukraine. But though the ground may be drying out a little on the frontline, conditions are still incredibly tough.

Here's the only viable route for #Ukraine to/from #Khromove (then beyond to #ChasivYar)

2/ ok... short debrief to what happened yesterday evening. 'plus de peurs que de mal"
What happened is as i said in S-West #Bakhmut to #TchassivYar it was only scouting & probing and they were destroyed easily.
What happened close to #KrasnaHora area is that stupid #Wagner
3/ went "alone" to try to do something major, just because certainly #Prigozhin gave direct orders... but they were not supported from a joint forces ops with regular Ru army.. so they effing "failed". in Some places they even withdraw..

Ukraine 🇺🇦 is now using flying drone interceptors from the USA 🇺🇸 to counter the threat of #Shahed loitering munitions. Deputy PM Mykhailo Fedorov shared that #Ukraine has bought 6 of the Fortem DroneHunter F700 drones, which use their aerial agility to down threats with nets.
The systems are autonomous, guided by onboard radar. According to the company, only 15% of target drones are able to evade the first shot — and the F700s carry multiple nets. Fortem has worked with the US @DeptofDefense, and is now making the product commercially available.
The Fortem website has more information about the system, which can apparently down drones of multiple sizes using different types of projectile nets: fortemtech.com/products/drone…

- Rusia, gran superpotencia, es expulsada en unos meses de buena parte de los territorios ucranianos que ocupaba;

SitRep - 27/10 - "The Burn 2.0"

Welcome to the daily overview of the events of the war in Ukraine. We zoom in on general matters and of course the front line. With today a special look at #Kupyansk-#Svatove, #Kreminna and #Kherson.

1/X
As usual we start with the russian losses, which are slightly less then usual. This most likely has to do with the bad weather, making advancements and therefore direct combat less easy. We expect there hasn't been much direct combat the last day.
Last evening the AFU managed to shoot down 19 #Shahed-136 kamikaze drones and one X-59 cruisemissile.

In total 20 drones were launched. That makes a hitrate of 95%.

Some asked if a #Gepard can find and track #Shahed-136 because of the small profile. For example, in this video you can see the size of a target drone and towed bag. The profile of the drone is about the size of a Shahed. The towed bag from the front has a very small profile.
Here you can see the size of target drones at the life firing range in Todendorf GE. It is a small air-moped. The MPDR 12 from the Gepard can track this size of drones at full range from 16 km below. The towed bag is small in Diameter. You can imagine how the Radar tracks CMs. Image
And it can go even smaller. At shooting breaks we sometimes locked on sea gulls and the Radar tracked them. In 2017 and 2018 a Project Team from Germany went to Qatar to test if the Gepard can even track small UAS. Qatar ordered 15 Gepard 1A2 after the results. ImageImageImage

#Kyiv, #Ukraine, heute Morgen.
