Good Morning #ableg as we enter into yet another week of the #shandemic we have do have some good news and...frankly still a good share of WTF. With the <adjective pending> school reopening plan set to launch next Tues, we will start there.
1495 (+5) Schools with cases
904 last 2 weeks (-10)
112 schools with 1 case or pre-declaration (-2)
322 on ALERT (2-4 cases), -10
251 on OUTBREAK (5-9 cases) (-2)
218 past the LaGrange point (10+ cases), (+3)
6736 (+160 since May 11)
Total CASES in schools 818 (34%)
We have started to see (very minor) drops in the numbers. Which is to be expected as schools are all closed. (some exceptions). Interestingly the schools with more than 10 cases, dumbed LaGranged in honour of monster @AdrianaLaGrange have actually increased slightly.

This coming from the guy who has threatened the livelihoods of every healthcare worker in the province, while @shandro yells at doctors in their driveways, & who’s policies have prompted hundreds of doctors to close their practice &/or relocate. In a pandemic.

Good Morning @Ableg new day same old #shandemic report. Here it is for 2021-3-16 beginning with Monster
@AdrianaLaGrange mismanagement of Schools, Shandemic actual's profiteering and concluding with the growing mutant threat.
For Schools (Change) @SOSAlberta
Schools with/had COVID cases 1247 (+2)
Last 2 weeks 287 (+13)
One case or Pre-Alert 96 84 (+12)
Alert (2-4) 107 (-2)
Tier 1 Outbreak (4-9) 54 (+2)
Lagrange Lvl Outbreak (10+) 29 (+1)
Closed 23
Active cases 1160 (+54)
Transmissions 205 (+11)
No good news the only (-) is alerts and only because they were not contained and escalated to outbreaks. Monster Lagrange's Comprehensive plan is following the same trajectory as the robust one and barring vaccinations for children will result in another shutdown.

Good Morning
@Ableg
here is your #shandemic report for 2021-3-16 beginning with Monster @AdrianaLaGrange

Lagrange Lvl Outbreak (10+) 28 (+1)

Active cases 1106 (+89)
Transmissions 194
All in all the numbers for schools are relatively flat. This is not really good news as we continue to see schools reach the LaGrange point of more than 10 cases and 4 more have been closed. Large HS (ME Lazerte YEG) continue to be the hardest hit. Class size is critical.

When fascism comes to Alberta, it will be draped in the flag, wearing a NHL jersey over it’s l ❤️ O&G hoodie, and driving a blue truck.
...and the blue truck, a Dodge, won’t have mud flaps—which is a violation of section 64 of Vehicle Equipment Regulation of the Traffic Safety Act.

When fascism comes to Alberta, there will be well known, documented cases of it aldready making a career out of oppressing minorities and women.

People will not notice this.

They will see the flag, jersey, & hoodie, & think “it’s someone like me.”

A thread about the latest way the UCP is making it harder by the day to stay and fight for my patients, our health care system, and my province.

I recently sold my farm, b/c it looked like I wouldn't be able to afford the upkeep under the current circumstances. 1/
Luckily, it sold not long after COVID hit, before many of the economic effects had shown themselves (I doubt I would easily find a buyer now if I had waited). But sold for a lot less than I paid for it.

My plan was to buy a house in the town where my clinic is located, and... 2/
... where I do hospital work. Moved into a rental temporarily while looking for a suitable house.

Have just heard from the mortgage broker that I didn't get approved for the house I put an offer on. Asked him if I could get approved for a smaller amount, like $195K for a... 3/

This week we found out:

Alberta doctors agreed to meet the government’s demand to cap physician spending at 4.57B. That offer has been sitting on Shandro’s desk for 19 days.

Why didn’t Shandro accept it or at least offer a counter proposal?

Alberta doctors started negotiating in November, but has had 6 proposal shot down by Shandro. Before negotiations began, Shandro introduced legislation to tear up the contract with Alberta doctors should negotiations fail.

The legislation allowed Shandro to terminate @Albertadoctors’ contract and bypass the constitutional right to binding arbitration.

Section 40.2 From Bill 21:

@shandro @jkenney 1...Allow me to paint a metaphor. Imagine, you and your family are on a trip through the mountains. But your car is running a little hot. So you stop at a service station just before a long steep decline, maybe check the radiator and top up gas...2
@shandro @jkenney 2...While there the newly appointed owner of service station storms out and tells you it is UNSAFE to be driving your car in THESE mountains and you will require IMMEDIATE comprehensive "work" done on your car...3
@shandro @Jkenny 3...Meanwhile, a storm blows up to the point of white-out conditions. The shop owner sets his "technician" to work on your car. You find you can't even get answers from these guys as they push you aside, hoist your car and start pulling things apart...4

There is NO doubt COVID is a nightmare, so why are AB docs being torn in multiple directions fighting with gov’t? If it were just financial, unlike @shandro, docs could wait until post-pandemic. But the Nightmare goes FAR beyond the finances: welcome to AB docs’ “Elm Street” 👇
1) Lack of Fair Process - aka Good Faith, which Every worker has rights to.

a) Bill 21 - introduced PRIOR to AMA negotiations even started; gov’t preemptively gave Cabinet supposed authority to unilaterally end negotiations/mediation & tear up AMA’s active contract on Feb 20.
1) b) Binding Arbitration refusal - alongside Bill 21, effectively denies AB docs our Constitutional Right of Association. As docs cannot strike, access to a 3rd-party conflict resolution process is guaranteed under law. Docs persist in requesting & @shandro persists in denying.
