4. God created the Male and Female. Just because the concepts of multiple genders has existed in Ancient times doesn't make it true. Just like saying the Jews are a rejected people. It is simply not true. (2/6)

1. This is the first time the World Cup is being played in a Muslim country, and only the second outside of the traditionally Christian world. The first was South Korea & Japan in 2002.
2. 2002 also marked the furthest a traditionally Muslim country ever progressed in the World Cup, with #Turkey placing 3rd, after beating South Korea in a very exciting game.
Intriguing front cover: a shrine grove (鎮守の森) in the midst of a flood. Good visual metaphor: Shinto-derived aesthetic environmentalism doesn't help against climate change. The popular myth that Japanese traditional culture offers solutions for living sustainably is unfounded.
We all know what's needed: corporations must stop burning fossil fuels asap; national governments must stop subsidising them. #Japan is addicted to fossil fuels; its environmental track record is poor. #Shinto is aesthetically appealing, but useless in the face of climate change.

Ok, let's get the obvious stuff out of the way. The Mr. Miyamori character is a dupe for #Ghibli animator #MiyazakiHayao. And the "Spirited East" title perpetuates a bananas orientalist binary of the 'modern, rational West' vs. the 'traditional, mystical East.' But let's dig in.
