So here’s the detailed day by day itinerary of my recent Sikkim trip. So much to explore in this beautiful state. We covered Gangtok, Lachung and Pelling. Day trips from each place. So we had a flight from Mumbai to Bagdogra (West Bengal) which is the nearest airport. I took an early morning flight (about 3 hrs duration) as the road journey to Gangtok is about 4-5 hours and we wanted to reach by evening latest. We had lunch on the way. Next morning we were planned for local Gangtok sightseeing. Bakthang waterfalls, Institute of Tibetology, Chorten stupa. Some local fruits🍍 on the way too!

1. Here’s an explanation of how I photographed the galactic center with #iPhone13ProMax, following a number of requests. This works for iPhone 11 and up although 12/13ProMax will yield better results due to better camera specs.

2. I used Lumy & WillyWeather apps to determine when is last light, ClearOutside app to gauge cloud cover, and PhotoPills app to find where and when the galactic cloud would be optimal in my composition (luckily it was 8pm and not 2am!)

3. I ensured lights in the house were minimal (this process is incredibly sensitive to light). Phone in a tripod and picture composed. NightMode kicks in automatically, push the dial out to 30sec (max exposure handheld is 10s). More time = more light = better picture.

I shot this at 4am, Nautical Twilight, 15 minutes before blue hour. Pix in this light normally give awful artefacts. I’m using a $100 LED light at lowest intensity, 1sec NM was making him too bright. Using exp comp to set exposure (this bts shot with NightMode on #iphone12)

Dim venue, no natural night. This is sooc, no editing. Wide Portrait Mode, exposure set via tap and lock and then expo comp. Hair has always been an issue with Portrait Mode, I’m assuming LiDAR is operating here as the transition is beautifully smooth. Nice bokeh.

Bir Ali nampak seperti benteng dengan mercusuar yang menjulang tinggi. Disebut Bir Ali karena dulu Sayyidina Ali menggali banyak sumur di tempat ini. Masjid ini juga dikenal dengan Dzul Hulaifah.

The beauty of photography is that it allows us to relive memories that we cherish forever and with a camera always in my pocket, I’m able to capture so many. In celebration of #WorldPhotographyDay, I want to share some tricks I use to capture the perfect #ShotoniPhone photo.
1. Light is the most important element when taking a picture. I love natural light during the early hours of the morning or during sunset the way the sun tilts and shines its light at that time creates depth and perfect shadows, giving a touch of magic to the pictures.
2. Noticing details is a fundamental task that is completely yours. Being observant and providing value to each element, such as textures, colors, shadows, expressions and movements, will take your photos to the next level.
